Sorry to be slow getting to this, C. Probably the easiest thing is to look on Amazon at
http://www.amazon.com/As-Seen-On-TV-...8526503&sr=1-7 including the photos allong the left-hand side showing how to fill them from a bottle of fragrance that has an atomizer. What is not clearly shown is that that silicon "device" intended to fit up against the atomizer is also something of a built in small funnel. Would still be easier to use a pipette with the funnel. The opening is not all that large.
As far as that silicon connector piece helping decant from an atomizer, I tried to use it with a decant atomizer, but the collar that the sprayer cap slides up and down within in the down position tended to distance the sprayer from the silicon "adapter" and thus not help, or for that matter hinder much. I am guessing that with many atomizers on "real" bottles of scent--I just looked and Creed, C&S, Montale, Dunhill 1934, and Pen's atomizers are excellent examples--the lack of such a collar would mean that the silicon thingie could actually be of significant help.
All of the ones Big Lots had were in silver, and the lettering on the side looks just slightly different than what Amazon shows, but tht could just be the photograph.
By the way, the Flo brand decant atomizers also on Amazon that look very much like the "My Scent" The Salon Shoppe atomizers, seem to be different. Apparently, the silicon adapter on those has to be put on after unscrewing the bottom of the atomizer, and then removed before screwing the bottom back on. I have no idea whether there is any advantage or disadvantage to that, other than having to keep up with that silicon part as a separate piece.
I know you use pretty darn good atomizers already, and I assume you are getting them at a decent unit price, in part becaue you are buying in quantity. I think these, in part because of their design, would be very leak proof. The sprayer seems fine. I do not like that the cap that goes over the sprayer is quite loose and comes off so easily. But, as I said previously, if sending one by mail a piece of tape should easily absolutely secure that cap. And who needs a cap otherwise, unless one is carrying a decant around in a pocket, which is the only time I can think of that the loose cap would be much of a problem.
I suppose I would also rather have a flat bottom so that the decant atomizer could stand up on end, rather than the rounded bottoms these Big Lots ones have.
I think my favorite decant atomizer is this style
http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Metalli..._sim_sbs_bt_25 . Outside can be plastic instead of metal. I may actually like plastic better.
I, of course, would be interested in your thoughts if you manage to get any of the Big Lots atomizers. I wonder how much they hold. It may actually be a little difficult to figure that out. I suppose using a pipette, not too hard! The slot on the side of these that let's one see to and through the glass side of the interior bottle to see the fill level is handy.
