    Default First time wet shaver

Just wanted to say howdy to everyone, just joined the wide world of wet shaving. I did 2 WTG this morning going to stick to that for a month to give my face some time to get used to it. My current setup is as follows:

    Pre: hot shower
    Brush: cheap one from CVS
    Cream: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Razor: '65 Lady Gillette
Blade: CVS - American Safety Razor
    After: Cold Water

I'm going to pick up some aftershave balm after work, my first shave went great but I totally forgot I didn't have any aftershave. I have had a full beard for the last 5 years, it's nice change. I think I'm going to add a 3 piece Weber to my collection soon.

    Hope things are well,
    Cory

    Welcome!
Good idea on taking it slow at first to get used to the technique. I might also suggest picking up some "Pre-Shave oil" from your local Wal-Martians. It usually costs less than $4 and can make a massive difference in how the shave feels. Using it in conjunction with Williams really made a massive difference to me!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Had another pain free shave this morning, the aftershave makes you really feel alive, or is that just me? Thanks for the tip Domminigan, I'll check out what Wally World has to offer this weekend.

Glad your shaves are going well! I shaved using lower end equipment at first as well. Developing my technique before switching to a Slim Adjustable with astra blade definitely made the difference for me. Welcome to B&B and good luck!
