    Default Feathers... Wow!

I had a quick 2 pass shave even though i shaved this morning.

Loaded into my brand new Merkur 34C HD was a Ninja-Sharp Feather.

As soon as it hit my face i could just feel how thin it was.. I did my two pass shave (With a little bit of raw-ness on the cheeks) washed up and am now BBS!.

I feel like a freak around because I can't stand Feathers. I have never managed to get a decent shave out of one. I still have a dozen or so left so I'm not giving up but as of now they are the worst blade I have tried.

I didn't like Feathers at all in my 34C, but they're great in my Weber! The jury's out as to whether they're better than Personna meds though.

I thought Weber was more aggressive than 34C...

Donīt want to p**e on your happiness. They just are GREAT on most faces but not on mine I am afraid. Would like to swop mine to some Super-Max Super Platinums or Rainbows.

I am a Feather convert have been since the beginning, I can't much think of a blade in my mind at least that compares. Other blades I love and use are Astra SP and Super Max...but I think I might just might be getting into Derby. But yes, Feather are Samurai sharp and they play no games with unruly facial hair. As long as you have fairly sound technique, they will take down any thing you put them against. I use mostly Feather though I rotate to use my other blades as they have different qualities, all are good...but Feather is the Daimyo that rules them all.

I am a recent DE convert but have been wet shaving pretty much all my life.

I had a bag-o-blades shared with me from a friend on another forum (non-shaving related) and ended up here before long. The last blade I tried in his care package was the Feather. He honestly scared me off them, implying that they were advanced, dangerous, unforgiving. He did not mean to be negative in any way and I think he thought he was doing me a favor by describing them as such.

Out of about 10 different blades I settled in to the Personas as my daily shaver, always eyeing the little white envelopes with the blue print. They scared me a little with their siren song. I put them out of my mind; their mantic melodies tore at my soul until like a mariner content to dash himself upon the rocks, I found myself reaching for the dainty, deadly packages. The flowery meadows beckoned to me, I was entranced and in danger. I gently braced myself, prepared as if for a battle, a grim expression lined my face as I brought this terrible weapon to bear. What sins had my hirsute countenance committed to be subjected to such a lethal treatment?

As blade touched face I was transported, not to the emergency room but to nirvana.

What the ... ?! This was like the Best. Shave. Ever. Why are we scaring people? If you cut yourself you cut yourself and even in Boy Scouts we learned that its better to get a cut from a sharp knife than a dull one. Why then the scare tactics here? Yes you will wonder why your lather is red far before you feel the sting if your mind wanders off, but is this so different than other blades?

The only thing that bothers me is I had to settle on the most expensive blade in the drawer. Figures, right?

Lee, the Astra SP is my number 2 go to blade, I'd give it a go as well if you would rather pay $16/hundred to $45/hundred

I like using a Feather when taking my time to get a perfect shave, and Astra SP when it's a rushed shave and there is more chance for face cuts! These 2 blades are what I've settled on and all I use.

    But yes, feathers rule.

My first wet shave was with a Merkur 34HD and a feather blade as well with similar results! Excellent blade!

In the movie IP Man, IP man humiliates a guy with a simple feather in a fight. And that's what it's like when you use a Feather to shave.
