Default Gillette Old with No Serial Number

Been trying to date a Gillette Old head I have. Would the serial number be under the head? The head is all I have. All it has is the Gillette logo and made in USA. Could this mean that it pre dates use of serial numbers?

Not all old types had serial numbers. According to the wiki "From Oct 18 1927 to Aug 27 1928, there were no serial numbers used". So maybe it's a '28.

The number (if it has one) will be inside the head on the base piece (not the cap)

That gap was during the time that the New Improved models were being serial numbered. Old Types made after the patent expiration in 1921 until they stopped making them at the end of the '20s wouldn't have been serial numbered anymore, and that's likely what the OP has here if it actually doesn't have a serial and he's not just overlooking it.
