    Very interesting.

No surprise that they are monitoring though. The automakers all have "spies" on the auto enthusiast forums, though they are 100% silent members... but yes, companies actually do pay employees to surf the forums looking for likes, dislikes, and potential issues that will hurt the business or even safety issues yet to be reported through normal channels.

For a while there was a running joke that if you had a userID on Dieselplace, GM would automatically void your warranty on your Duramax.

Iridium Super and 7 O'clock black are my favourites in my R41, but if very sharp blades are a bit too harsh for you, Astra SP are well worth trying - they're very good all-round blades.

I have amazing bss shaves with, astras, derbys and shark super chromes with the r41.
Today i shaved with a 3 time used derby and got an incredible bss shave.
As your tecnique improves the Muhle destroys facial hair with almost any blade.
    But strict tecnique is important.
Don't just throw it around your face with not being more carefull than with other razors.
    Have a great shave.

I've had a few shaves with R41 under my belt now and I just love this razor. That aside, I've been starting to branch out with blades some.

I've come to love the pairing with the 7 O'Clock Blue from the Praha batches and have 200 of them at my disposal. This is my "daily driver", if you will (I shave every 3rd/4th day).

I've also used a Feather HI SP in it and, yes, it's wicked Samurai Sword sharp, but, as everyone has noted, you can successfully shave with it if you slow it down and respect the blade.

Last night I got to debut my Barbon (Hungary) Shaving Cream and use a Восход (Voskhod) blade on it.

For a 1st shave, the Voskhod was great. Felt different than the Praha 7 O'Clocks, but I'm not sure how to describe it. It gave a fantastic shave and the Barbon brought back some memories of my early shaving days as an American-Hungarian kid spending summers behind the Iron Curtain and shaving outside at my grandmother's (God rest her soul).

As with anything, YMMV, of course, but I'll have to see how the Voskhod performs in a few days to see if this will also be a good alternative.

I still need to try it with an Astra SP at some point.

Heck, I still have to mate it with my Super Iridiums & Polsilvers, 1st.

If I get my hands on an Astra SP and find it suitable, then I'll have 3 Russian daily drivers, like 3 good Zhighulis (Lada).

The Grande handle is longer - 4 inches vs 3.5 inches for the standard. Don't know what the weights of the two are.

The R41 has a great deal of blade exposure as compared to other razors and sometimes it seems my blades and I rotate several different ones will lose their sharp edge pretty quick. The R41 loves a new blade and I have learned to just go ahead and replace the blade after every third shave. Even replacing the blade so often it will still take me a long while before I need to replace them.
