    Default Blade for the R41

I am looking for blade suggestions for the 2011 R41. I find the feather and med preps too harsh with the R41, but Voskhod works well. It just seems smoother and still sharp.

    Any ideas?

Astra SP and 7:00 Yellow were my best results.

Another Astra SP fan here. Affordable blade and it works as well as any I've tried in the R41.

Astra SP one of the great blades in the running now! I'm gonna snap up a ton of these baby's from Best Shave and at $8.00 per 100 you can't go wrong!
Israeli Personna - What a blade! Cheap as hell but smooth and very sharp! A friend for life that won't let you down!

Astra SP and/or Permasharp work great for me. I also enjoy Labs, but sometimes the quality is spotty and I find them too nicky. I may go try a red Personna next time around, I was mostly using those in the slants to compensate for sharpness, but I'm thinking I should give them a whirl in the R41 for fun.

My favorite with the R.41 is the Lord SC. It seems to be a bit smoother for me than others.

Try Derbys. This is the only razor that I like Derbys I but it's a good enough combo that I ordered 100 blades. I didn't like astras or personna red. 7oclock blacks are good.

I should send you the few that I have left.
For me, in the R41 or the Merkur 38, Derby was a bloodbath. Literally drops in the sink and on the counter.
Astra-SP and 7:00 Yellow were a night and day improvement.

If the Astra and 7:00 had both been as bad as the Derby in both razors, I'd have given up and stuck with the Fusion.

Connaught? Mine included a 5-pack of Yellows, but unless Muhle has changed, the blade actually in the factory packaging is a Derby.

Now, Muhle may be listening to us when we have commented that they are doing themselves no favors in packing a Derby with the R41 and switched to a better blade.
