Is anyone here a runner?
I've been running 3-4 miles/three times a week and have gotten a little bored with this routine. Over the weekend I had a friend participate in (& finish) his first full marathon. While talking with him last night he challenged me to train for a half-marathon. I'm really considering accepting the challenge by participating in the Mardi gras half-marathon at the end of February, 2008.
I've found a few online training guides to prepare for a race of this distance but want to know if anyone has any tips or experience running 13.1 miles. Also, does anyone know anything about the Mardi gras race in particular?
Lastly, does anyone want to join me on Feb. 24 at the Superdome?
