Default Lime, just can't Deal With It

So often I see reference to the scent of Arko being a somewhat polarizing aroma; actually I think it's just fine.
What I cannot handle is lime. Try as I may lime scent I find most unpleasant in soap, cream, or AS. Sadly my tub of Mystic Water Lime/Lavender will soon be appearing on B/S/T. Mystic Water is a great soap but that smell just don't get it. I do like lavender though, figured that may offset the lime smell. Anyway, anyone else there not a huge lime fan?

I have been wanting to try a lime soap but am leary of the scent at best. I must have sniffed about ten lime products while at Merz the other day but couldn't pull the trigger and ended up with scents I was sure I liked. One day I guess I'll have to try it with all you guys raving about it but, for now, I'm not a fan.

I have CF, QCS and Mike's, though in a soap, not a cream. Lime is my favorite.

The only lime products in my rotation are CF Lime SC and GFT Limes soap both of which I prefer to use in warmer weather. I consider both of these products to be excellent.

Count me in the lime camp. CF & QCS currently, going to likely add Mike's and/or Mystic Water once this accursed sabbatical is over.

Price, Mike's lime is simply too good to pass up on. If you don't break the sabbatical, this soap is absolutely worth of a 1/1/13 purchase.

I'm firmly in the lime club as well. My favorites are Mike's, Castle Forbes, and Mystic Water Lavender/Lime/Menthol.

There are two separate and distinct "Lime" categories to wade through.

There's the candy, sweet lime that you get from Godrej cream for example, and real citrus lime such as with Old Spice Lime.

Very different to me, and while I love the Old Spice type lime, I abhor the Candy lime smell.

(not taking away from the efficacy of Godrej).

I'm with you, Phil. CF & QCS are both squarely in the "true" lime category, unlike others I've tried.

I went through pretty much all the limes that existed a couple summers ago.
The only one I kept was Castle Forbes.

This was before QCS and Mike's.

Love lime. Key lime pie was once a favorite. Lime rather than lemon in my water and the third best piece of fish I ever had was lime grilled in key west Florida. My wife used to make a lime soap that for several years was my favorite.

Here's the shocker. I have tried three lime scented products now in the shaving world and don't care for the scent of any of them. Trumpers skin food, CF Lime ASB and Mikes lime soap (though a great performer shave wise). The scent seems sharper, more acidic or chemically than I remember my wife's soap smelling. She thought it might be because she used essential oils and not fragrances, but doesn't Mike use essential oils?

Its really a great disappointment to me.

Both Mike and CF use lime essential oil in the products you mention, no fragrance oils in either of them.

When I started out I thought I would love lime, sounded like a scent for me. I went through TOBS, T&H and GFT and was awarded a burning face by all of them. Didn't like the scent of any of them, although I could have lived with GFT if I had to. None of them are EO scents so I have yet to try that, but the lime fever in me has been greatly reduced. I am in no rush for lime EO products.

Quite a few lime fans I see. Please keep me in mind for a trade when the Mystic Waters hits B/S/T

I would have to agree with you acmemfg. I do not care for lime either. Tried a sample of Castle Forbes lime and a couple of aftershaves too. No dice for me. Luckily my sample of mystic water lavender lime smelled way more like lavender. But I bought the lavender tub.

LOVE, love, LOVE lime scents. My favorite of all shaving scents.

Mystic Waters lime is my current favorite soap.
