The only thing that is stopping this thing from being full of glittering vampires is a raft of lawyers working for Twilight's author. I'm pretty sure that it started off life as Twilight fanfic.

Agreed.
You commented that there are other issues that you understandably don't want to bring up in the forum, and without knowing those it makes it difficult to give an honest evaluation.
We can only make a recommendation based on our own experiences.
It goes back to a "standard" that was given to me by a very wise man happily married for 40 years:
If you feel that you must hide it from your SO, it's cheating.
If it detracts from your attention to or your attitude toward your SO that he/she is the best partner on the planet, it's cheating.
So given that, yes... there MAY be a legitimate reason for you to be jealous over a silly book, but that is going to have to be something between you and your wife.

Yeah, definitely sounds like something you'd want to have a real heart-to-heart to with the wife about.
In other news, one of my high school English teachers wrote those "romance novels". One of the titles was My Cajun Lover if you ever want to look it up. One of my classmates brought a copy to school to get her to sign it and she had him suspended![]()

The only thing I'm jealous of is this hack's overnight success. This started out as Twilight fanfiction, and evolved through social media to become the mommy porn novel of all time. I tried reading a page of it when I saw it on the shelf at my local "box store." It's written like a child wrote it. Just shows how little taste the average reader has.

I don't stand in judgement of anyone, but I find it a sad commentary on our culture that porn and eroticism are considered normal and people say Not that there's anything wrong with that!
As for me and my family, we'll follow the Lord.

I'll just say that I disagree wholeheartedly. Nothing unnatural or shameful about sex or eroticism whatsoever. Babies don't make themselves.
To John - I can relate to personal history issues and the discomfort they can cause, but my opinion is with the bunch that says it's just a book - and better a book than another person. Every psychologist will tell you that fantasy is completely normal, so long as it doesn't interfere with the relationship or hinder healthy, loving connections with your spouse. It's a fad, like Sex in the City; it will pass, and there will be another. Girls will be girls.
Thanks you guys!
I listened to you guys and actually did chat some things out with my wife about this, and that other thing which had been "settled" prior to this but I'm still struggling with it's lingering feelings and doubts. Very obvious to me now that it had alot to do with how I felt about this book. I kinda feel like a tool now for bringing it up here for you guys advice on, but to be honest, the members of this forum are the closest thing I have to guy friends at this stage in my life. Kinda sad, I know, but I'm super thankful I do have this board and you all!
So yes, we chatted it out. We also chatted about the boobs on TV thing. Apparently it's always been quirky female stuff that I didn't understand about her own insecurity with herself and how she looks etc etc. Not about me seeing it. It seems like this shoulda been figured out by now, but we've only been together 6 yrs and this stuff has not really come up that much yet. So, thankfully, that problems solved!
As far as her and that book.... Long story short, some of you guys were very right. We had quite an enjoyable morning!![]()
I think things are ok now. Hopefully. I still have some trust issues and hurt feelings, but I'm hoping that the rough spots are behind us now and all will be ok. Thanks again you guys, truly!

There ya go man!
Just need to remember that women and men are indeed "wired" differently and what makes one insecure is not important to the other.
Her personal opinion of her own appearance will make a BIG impact on nearly everything in her life that involves interaction with another human being.
That is the root of the deadly question: "Does this make me look fat?" There is no answer to that because she already believes the answer to be "yes" even if she looks great.
And no... the answer to that question is not "No, your butt makes you look fat"
It is your job to make her believe that she is the most beautiful creature on the planet... and that's not easy with Hollywood and Cosmo being thrown at her as the "this is perfection" example.
You have to make her believe that by showing her in many ways.
Not an easy job and we all fail at it from time to time.

Pretty pretentious comment my friend. Pornography is a $10 billion a year business. I would bet my life that there are plenty of people who "follow the lord" who help make it such a financially successful industry. No need to imply that others are some how not as godly because they watch or partake in something you don't.
Don't be jealous! It was a self published novel and people apparently liked it. I am thrilled for the author. A true success story! I have never read the book and I have no plans to. But I still hold that in this day and age, I am just happy to see people reading; no matter what it is.
Success!
Just call me Chris.
