Ecuadorian Hats - What would you get?

If you had a "man on the ground" in Ecuador what hat would you have them get for you?

First I'd have to know what was wanted, a dress hat or one for hiking, or gardening. For me, I'd get a 600 wpi montecristi panama for an everyday type hat and a 900 wpi for a dress hat. I like a teardrop crease with a crown height of about 4 1/2" and a brim width of about 2 5/8" or 2 3/4". The crown ribbon would be about 1 3/4" wide burgundy colored.

Just as an aside, I have heard that it's difficult to find good panamas at reasonable prices in Ecuador, they're mostly shipped out to sell outside the country.

The other issue is whether you have them blocked in Ecuador or here. I had mine blocked here. Although I didn't have the choice, it was done by Art Fawcett!
