It totally does. I believe that we tend to live in a insulated bubble & it's always nice to come back to reality when someone says thank you.

Thank you all who serve, have served, and those who gave their lives serving.

As we say in Britain at Remembrance Day (Nov 11th) - "We will remember them."

A salute, and a deep thank you to friends and comrades who didn't come home.

True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.

I salute those who served and those that are serving and many thanks for carrying on this great tradition of serving in the finest military force in the world. Also, to the brothers across the two oceans, thank you for sticking by U.S. :)

I don't mean to sound out of place......

Memorial day (last Monday in May) is for the remembrance of those who gave their lives in the service of our country in time of war.

Veterans day (Nov 11) is a celebration to honor living veterans.

I have an uncle who is still on the bluffs in Normandy. Today is for him and all others who lost their lives defending our freedom.

This is not said to disparage our living veterans, just so that everyone knows what Memorial day is and so that it does not get confused with Veterans day.

As was already said, thank you. The world would be a very different place if not for the sacrifices of so many great people.
