Anyone if you dare to admit it try the Schick Hydro 5 Power Select?

Hi Everyone,

I am a hardcore DE man and always will be and I will probably get hung by the short and curly's for saying this so here it goes..........

In a moment of weakness and after years of using my beloved English DE's I thought I will try something different. So I did!! I got the Schick Hydro 5 Power Select with the 3 settings and lathered up with the glorious Tabac soap. Had a 3 pass shave and it was wonderful. Boring but wonderful!!! I only lathered up once for the first pass and didn't need to lather for the second or third pass as the cartridge releases a hydrating gel activated by water.

Not a bad shave but I a miss my DE's already.

I'll give you a pass since its Schick and not a modern Gillette.

Ive Tried it, i got a coupon in the Mail For a Free Razor with 2 blades, and also a 5 pack of Razors for 2 bucks, That was almost free,

its ok not as great as my Feather Razor or Weber, or EJ89 with Weber Bulldog handle, Gem 1914 or 1912 or Streamline, Wait, wait, its not better then any DE or SE i own, But i cant take you out of a jam with some Shave Secret Oil, But that is just about what its good for, Emergencies :o/

I tried a Mach3 standard blade a year ago t compare to my straights..end result was very smooth..problem...I have oily skin..so that vitamin E lubestrip made my face feel "greasy" even with Clubman AS..but the mach3 felt cheap..duh!..its pladtic..3 for $7.50 at bed bath and beyond..when I tried to go over a few missed spots..the razor felt harsh for some reason..anyways..my $.02 cents..back to ma straights I went

I agree with you there my friend. I have found nothing better than a Feather Razor as well

I tried one, it was free in a hotel i stayed in a while back. Before I got into DEs and ADs. I remember it as being ok actually. Far better than a fusion in my opinion.
