Here is the scan of the now soaked Clairefontaine page. There is a small circle of blue that does not detract from reading about 1/3 of the way down the page and about 3/5 of the page to the right. That is the only evidence that there was ever splattering.

So I ventured over to the Goulets to score a bottle of L.E. but they were out. Good thing they had bottles of Diamine Damson, Denim, Noodler's Lexington Gray and Sailor Jentle Epinard. Even when they don't have what I want the result is the same...goodies for me.

Oh, no you don't. I have fallen for that routine before. More than once, in fact.

    /Thanks for the info.

I gotta say, a tad disappointed by the lack of water proofness here.

I bought it as a tough blue that would be "bulletproof" but as indicated in other threads, this is almost worthless on the outside of a letter. Odds are that can get wet pretty easily and render the address and other bits nasty looking.

Just got my Liberty and Konrad pen. I love them both. The ink flows very nicely. The color is also great.
Please comment on my recent reviews. Thanks!

Got my bottle of Liberty's Elysium today. I loaded into my Lamy Studio fitted with a 1.1 nib. It is a very nice color, and is performing well in the Studio!

It's funny you chose a 1.1 because as soon as I get the pen flushed, I'll be filling my blue TWSBI 530 with LE with a 1.1i Bock nib I just robbed from a clear 540. There is just something about the color that screams for italic treatment from that pen in my opinion.

Just an update...I actually put my 1.1italic in my red TWSBI. My blue TWSBI got the Broad Butter Line Stub with Angel Wings from Pendleton Brown. I filled it with LE today, and it sings. I'll take photos as soon as I feel I have gotten some sense of the enormity of what this nib does.

They just reclassified the ink as being near bulletproof. I suppose there was some waterproof issues. They are going to update the ink profile.

It sings? Singing nibs can be fixed.

From Richard's site -->Singing: A squeaking or squealing sound that some nibs make as they write. Singing is a harmonic vibration that occurs when friction between the nib’s tip and the paper causes the nib to “stick” and release repeatedly at the resonant frequency of the nib. When a nib that sings is stroked very rapidly across the paper, as in signing with a flourish, the vibration can be sufficiently energetic to atomize the ink, creating an aerosol spray that peppers the paper with tiny droplets. When this happens, the stroke itself usually becomes very broad and fuzzy in appearance, as shown below. See also clicking, talking.

    Maybe you meant something else.
