Just bought a bottle of Pisco. Anyone have any thoughts on this stuff?
Sorry is this is a repeat of other discussion on this forum!

I'm from Chile... the pisco is almost the national alcohol... which brand you bought? is chilean psico or peruvian pisco?
you got any special question?

Where in Chile do you live? About 45 years ago I lived in Temuco. Pisco is a wonderful drink, I don't remember any of the brand names. I believe that we mostly drank just a local aguardiente.
I live near to Viņa del Mar.
This days the pisco industry has growth from that aguardiante (some sort of cheap grappa) to a wide diversity of brands and qualities... I used to work as a bartender so I know some of my poisons...
5 or 10 years ago Chile claim the name of pisco as a trademark (for exporting related issues) and today the only product allowed to be branded as pisco are the chilean ones. Peru is another producer of pisco (if you ask me I prefer the peruvian pisco for some drinks and the chilean for others); but due to international regulation they must brand their product with a different name (peruvian aguardiente or something like that).
Today you may find piscos that should be taken as a whiskys, mixed as a cocktails or just with some cola.

We made the mistake of going to Viņa last February. I think that everyone from Santiago and some from Brazil were there at the same time.

Nothing like a good pisco punch...
I believe that you can still get it in the States. I've seen it advertised for about $30 for a 750ml bottle.
In the States the most common I've seen is Capel and Alto de Carmen. My favorite is Mistral, but I haven't seen it in the US ever.
