    Default Sandalwood Decision

I'm looking to get a bottle of Sandalwood cologne. I'm using TOBS Sandalwood cream and quite like it. Can anyone tell me if the cologne smells similar? Or how it would compare to the GFT version?

The only sandalwood cologne I have used is Caswell-Massey sandalwood.

    Very nice. Long lasting.

Exactly the same scent as their sandalwood soap and after shave balm.

Have TOBS soap, cream, cologne and aftershave. Yes, they smell similar. Can't tell you about GFT. Also have Caswell-Massey sandalwood cologne; it does not smell like the TOBS.

Try to get samples. I recently picked up decants from vendors here of GFT, C&E and RR. GFT is my favorite, but RR is really good too and inexpensive. Very different scents though.

Blindmouse, I am sorry that I did not make a comparison with the Caswell-Massey for you. While TOBS is a spicy sandalwood interpretation, Caswell-Massey's sandalwood cologne is stronger, non-spicy, woody aroma. Initially it is almost harsh.

TOBS Sandalwood cologne is great, doesn't fade off too quickly. On me it stays about 4-5 hrs. I hope you'll be happy with the choice you make.

If you are interested in a floral sandalwood....try "Cerruti 1881". Archefire has it in his decant store. It last all day long and is quite a nice scent if you like a sandalwood base.
