    Default The Legion Razor

Currently I have exams and so my girlfriend decided to get me a little gift. I had earlier told her exactly what to look for in a straight razor on ebay (so no cracks in scales, no pakistani razors etc...) She thinks I am insane due to all the things I have, but she enjoys buying little things on ebay. So without further ado here is my new Legion straight razor. Anymore info on it is appreciated (All I know is it was Made Expressly for George Wood in Sheffield England).

Am looking forward to giving this razor a polish, and then honing it up and testing it out. Have a couple of razors I am planning on trying to fix, just currently busy with exams.

Thanks to you I cannot search for this razor on B&B. Whenever I search you constantly come up
Also I was wondering how long it would take you to comment.

I don't know about the razor, but your girlfriend is a keeper. Very thoughtful, indeed!

Best wishes on your exams, by the way.

Well I have been with her for three years now... Will take another 4-5 years until I am ready for that.

There was another Legion razor on ebay a while ago. I was watching it just for a goof, but the shipping was too expensive so I didn't put a bid on.

I won a Legion razor off ebay a few weeks back. Not like the one above, but identical to the OP's except that the blade size is pushing 7/8 (which is why I went for it).

Honed it at the weekend but haven't shaved with it yet. I will shave with it now and post the results!

Well, I am pleased to report a great shave. The Legion mowed down three days of growth with no problems and gave me a DFS in two and a half passes with no nicks, weepers or irritation. Still being a relative n00b with the straight I often need to do some tidying with a DE and/or end up with a bit of irritation around the lower neck. The edge on The Legion was good enough that it was able to handle my not-quite-ATG neck pass with no problems.

It probably wasn't quite as smooth as my favourites from my small collection, but certainly in the top 1/3, and I suspect it may have benefitted from a bit more stropping.

I give The Legion two thumbs up!

    Enjoy your razor!
