    Default Germany needs skilled/educated workers

Due to the current economic situation, Germany is looking for educated workers from outside their country. LinkedIn and Adecco are sources they are currently utilizing. Many of these jobs are located in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg with small and medium-size family enterprises. Especially needed are engineers but almost every category is needed.

Germany has been needing them for a while. The problem is that Germany is not a very child-friendly country, and many Germans are not having children, therefore there is a lack of Germans being born who can fill these positions in the future.

Would take a lot to get this engineer to move from the USA to Germany.
Say... 2.3 Million USD/year? Three year contract. ;)

German seems to be a language that sounds beautiful or horrible and is similar to English; it missed by one vote of being our national language.

How is it not child friendly? I have to admit I've thought about exploring it, but my family would have to go with me.

That sounds tempting. I'll be an engineer in 1 1/2 years, if I don't fail any classes (I know it's unbecoming of an engineer to use mixed numerals). Unfortunately I doubt any German companies are interested in funding visas for graduates.

Families do not have children. The federal government gives families Kindergeld, money to help them raise children.

If you can help me find a job that pays more than I'm making now, will pay for all moving expenses and help me find a place to live, I'm all over it.

I spend more time in Germany than any other country besides the U.S., particularly in the Stuttgart/Sindefingen/Boeblingen area of Baden-Wurttemburg. The entire region is experiencing a level of economic growth that far outpaces available labor supply. On the surface it might seem like it's just small to mid-sized companies, but in fact, there's a much broader labor shortage that reaches all the way to some of the largest companies in the world.

There really are a metric s#!t-ton of jobs open in the area. Companies like HP, Daimler(Mercedes), IBM, Bosch are all desperate to fill open skilled positions...and the wages are generally exceptional...especially for highly skilled/degreed employees. And, right now, a lot of the larger companies seem willing to pay for relocation, insurance, even English-language schooling for children for the right employees.

I personally know a couple guys who are working as independent contractors in the IT field who have multiple, simultaneous contracts for German companies in excess of Eu300k+/yr, and, one marketing executive who just landed a 2yr contract for Eu275k/yr that comes with a Eu40k/yr benefits and education supplement...so the money is definitely there for the properly skilled and trans-continental mobile.

Engineers, IT, business development, marketing, and multinational accounting seem to be the best bets.

Does living in Germany take some getting used to? Absolutely. But, for anyone with the right skills, attitude, and outlook, in my opinion the BW region of the country is one of the best places to live and work in the world.
