Post your pictures - Cutlers to their Majesties

Just restored this one. Kept the original scales with the wedge cut into the scales themselves. The challenge was duplicating the washers that look similar to W&Bs but are different. Mine are one piece ( looks like 2) out of Nickle Silver.
I saw others on Shave Ready's on post #38.

It had been restored recently but showed up in my queue for a redo.
Here is how it showed up with rather peculiar shaped , thick micarta scales and green swirl wedge. Rust included.

All wrapped up. Now the shape of the scales compliments the blade shape. Black horn. Triple and double stacks and a new lead wedge.

With respect to Ivory, I know that Canada is a very odd nation in terms of how it enforces the ban. I remember an instance not too long ago where an orchestra was travelling to the States, including a piano among the instruments. The problem arose when they tried to come back IN to the country with said instrument and it's Ivory keys. Even though the Orchestra could prove it was manufactured in the pre-ban era, there was some question as to ownership (it was gifted to the orchestra or some such), and the instrument was seized. It was eventually released after Government intervention (and a LOT of press), but I think I would be very hesitant about purchasing one. Even if the shipper included documentation I would not trust some CBSA flunky to use their common sense.

for me I would ship it to someone I knew in the Buffalo area and then make a run to the border.

Yep, it's big.. It's curiously, not my tallest sheffield. Certainly the meatiest/biggest overall though, It shaves GREAT fwiw.

I have this one, would love some more information about it and maybe a better dating that what I know.

Here a clarification on Cutlers to their majesties vs Cutlers to HIS majesty
Notes of Interest:
WhatTimeWhoNote
Cutlers to their majesties1840 - 1861Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and GothaUntil the Prince's death in 1861
Cutlers to their majesties1861- 1901 (22 January 1901)Queen VictoriaThe old queen never removing Albert's name from their reign
Cutlers to HIS majesty1901 - 1910 (22 January 1901 to 6 May 1910)King Edward VIIKing Edward VII took over the Queen reign
Cutlers to HIS majesty1910 - 1936 (6 May 1910 to 20 January 1936)King George VThis is less likely but this would be when King George V took over from King Edward VII.

I am new here hence the long interval!

I was initially excited to read this as I have a Joseph Rodgers razor, duly stamperd "Cutlers to their Majesties" and thought for a moment that the razor might be Victorian. I now think that the company was referring to a succession of majesties that had used their products.

Incidentally as Prince Albert was Prince Consort (rather than a ruling sovereign) I believe that he should have been referred to as "His Royal Highness Priince Albert &c.". There was a fuss here in England a while ago when some clot referred to H.M. The Queen as "Her Royal Highness"!

Meanwhile here's a snap of the razor; a perfeclty ordinary example I think, but in nice conditon - and it was cheap!$Joseph Rodgers.jpg

I went from doing that monster posted just above here to doing this tiny little Rodgers "Cutlers to their Majesties" . Don't let the size fool you though as its a sweet little razor!

2nd photo is for comparison.
