I saw this one on Ebay and it caught my eye.

Not a desk, but a writing slope. To my way of thinking, it's a perfect mate with a fountain pen.
I already have one otherwise I might have bought it.

I think it's going to need a Mitchell Briefcase as well. The Single Malt and espresso machines are needed. I was also thinking of a vintage port to go with it.

Thanks, can't wait to get the legs and have the desk in use. The only issue is I'm going to have to keep the mess off this desk.

It's been fun making it and posting it. It's also been great doing this project with my dad, who's 80. it has definitely brought us closer.

I was never real handy doing these types of projects, but want to do something else now. I thought it would be a cutting board, but Jim's temptation got the best of me. I might do a small shelf for the printer to go on.

Off to Lancaster, PA tomorrow morning, to get the legs. It should be finished the following weekend.

Make yourself one of them test tube racks for your razors, but a nice one that can hold brushes too,... be sure to make empty spots so the holes left behind wont look just right and you will have to fill them up, and tell your wife/girlfriend/significant other who you owe explinations too, that they have to be filled to make your hard work look onkay in the bathroom

Good thought, but she'll fill up the empties with flowers faster than I can burn a vintage pen with a heat gun (first time trying to open to do some resacking).

I picked up the legs in Pennsylvania and the vendor at the flea market said that he had several others wanting the legs that he brought especially for me. I paid him before he sold them. I thought I would bring the legs down to bare metal and prime/paint them. The lettering seem to have a faint white paint on them and that's what I thought I would do.

I'm now debating whether to leave the patina on and use them as is (while doing a minor cleanup of the surface rust). What do you think?
