Where's a good place to purchase ESEE knives?
http://www.the-knife-connection.com/eseeknives.html , gpknives.com , knifeworks.com and knifecenter.com have decent prices. The knife connection has free shipping at $40, GP and knife center offer free shipping at $149/150, knifeworks doesn't offer free shipping at any order amount unless it is included with some certain knives.

If you pick izula 2 look for leather sheath like the Sharpshooter or this one http://cowboyknives.com/theoriginald...1-2-1-1-2.aspx
Just for kicks, here's a pic of my ESEE Izula with a paracord wrapped handle:

I like Chestnut Ridge for purchases. I bought my ESEE 5 used, then did some modifications to it. Here she is.

Is that mounted handle up or down? Do you have a photo?
I've been looking for something that 'locks' into the sheath so I can have it handle down on my pack, but releases reasonably easily as well. Haven't been successful, so I still carry my SOG assisted open in my pocket, which is not really ideal most times.
Thanks!
Someday, I hope I am worthy of the devotion my dog gives me today.
I love Kershaws. I have a pair of Junkyard Dogs that see a lot of work. They sharpen relatively easily and are fantastic knives.

Sorry, missed this question. I have the ESEE-3 mounted handle down, edge out on my left pack strap. I've run a lanyard through the hole in the pommel and use that as a safety, wrapped over the top of the sheath. Redundant, since the sheath has nice retention, but better safe than sorry. This rig has held up for some rugged terrain hiking with zero issues, made it up and back and was still ready to chop onions for chili.
