New stock

Just got a new stock for my 308 savage. I also have a 26" stainless steel criterion barrel in a 1-10" twist bull barrel I will be getting installed soon. The stock is a bell & Carlson medalist. Soon enough this will be a great target rifle. Of I can perfect my techniques over time I may start shooting competition as I have a world champion willing to train me to shoot properly. Here's what it looks like for now till the barrel gets put on.

What model is that? I have been looking for a stock for mine and this one looks very nice.

It's a bell & Carlson medalist stock in black. Way better than the flexible cheap plastic one that comes on the gun. My gun is a model 11 fxcp that I converted to a blind mag to fit in this stock, it's really easy to do. Just ordered my barrel nut wrench so soon as it gets here ill be changing out the barrel.

What optics are you using, and what distances will you be shooting at?

Right now I have a 3-9 nikon monarch that I originally bought for hunting but now that this has turned into a target gun at some point I'll be getting a higher power scope. Im only planning on shooting 300-600 yards so this scope will work still for now but not an ideal scope for that range.

thats a fine rifle you got there, my savage is 111 with a centerfed detachable box, so I'm having issues finding a replacement stock but ill be making the barrel upgrade myself fairly soon. you need to post pics of your groups with that beast. what ammo are you using? are you handloading yet?

Look into upgrading to a Nightforce 4.5-14X, or a US Optics in similar range when you do so.
