Have no fear. If you do a bit of searching you can find a rather long poll/thread from what seems like 2 or 3 months ago comparing Blacks and Blues. First off, most people love both. And second I think Blues came in slightly ahead of Blacks ... although polls like that are often biased by the number of people that have used a product and I think the Blues are a lot more common than the Blacks. In any case, the Blues are great blades.

If you don't like them Gav, I will drive over and take them off your hands :)

I have and use both and they are both excellent blades. I don't think that you will be disappointed in their performance at all.

In my Feather AS-D1 , the 7 O'Clock Black's are as sharp Feather blades and smoother than Personna Israeli Reds .

    Nosedog,

Both are great blades on par with the silver blues also. You'll enjoy them. I hate to say "expensive " as we came from carts but you know what I mean. It's the "new" expensive

Where is the best place to buy the Blacks? They are way too expensive everywhere I have seen them. Do we have someone here who sells them for a much better price?

I tried dridiot & he said he doesn't carry the 7 o'clock BLACK super platinum. I don't know if we have a vendor or not. I see them on ebay, but I would prefer to buy from a trusted member also.

Yep exactly. We have dridiot for Feather and Emilio for Super Iridium. We need a 7 o'clock Black member!

For the prices I've seen on these I'd suggest moving on. $50 per 100 from a vendor here is a bit steep as there are many, many other blades on par with these at a lower price point. Then again, carts weren't exactly cheap either so these are a bargain compared to those:)

Well, there is razorbladesandmore.com, but I am still awaiting my delivery after 4-5 weeks. No response to my email either :(

Strange there Gav, he is usually very very good with both communication and delivery.

I buy mine off one of two Indian based eBay sellers, never a problem with them.

Yes, I've never had problems in the past with rbam (that's at least one transaction, maybe two). Gotta say, it's been an unsuccessful month of online shopping all round for me #firstworldproblems. We all have one of those once in a while...

They can usually be had for around $30 per 100. I wish they were more widely available, but I have no issue with that price. They are more than worth it to me.

Just for the record, I wanted to point out user error here (mine). The email that hasn't attracted a response was a reply to an automated message, which says down the bottom "do not reply to this message". Silly me. I did check the return email address before sending - it was contact@... so it seemed fine - but this communication problem is my fault, not rbam's. I've now reattempted to make contact through the website.

Mods, if appropriate, please feel free to edit my statement in #31, or delete it entirely.

If you were asking about Gillette blacks, for me, they last 3 shaves.

Three shaves for me too, at least with the few blades I've tried.

Interesting. My standard use pattern is 3 shaves per blade and toss. 7 o"clock Blacks are an exception to that. I'm all about smoothness, and when the smoothness goes away, the blade goes away. I have no problem getting 4 to 5 shaves from a black. I also got 4, so far, from a Bluebird which is very surprising, given the cheap price of this brand, but I can already tell there's no point to going for five. The blacks are the smoothest for the longest that I've found. They are also the only blade in my locker that's superior whether in my Feather, Tradere, Ikon, Muhle, or anything else.
