    Default Shaving Purchases and Alcohol

This was brought up in another thread, so I thought I would start one specific to it. Being completely honest, how many online shaving purchases are made while sitting at home after a couple of libations? I will confess to making purchases I would not have after a couple fingers of Basil Hayden bourbon. Watches also, so it's not just razors, brushes, soaps, and creams.

The bigger problem is jumping on a forum and making a few posts you normally wouldn't...

+1 - I haven't done that, but the principle is understood.

So far I haven't done any drunk shopping. I have come up with some ideas, thought about them the next day and then followed through, but now clicking while actually under the influence.

I don't drink, so I don't have any convenient excuse for my purchases....

Ah, alcohol. I'm sure that many a hobbyist or enthusiast of just about any sort have received a credit card statement that showed just how lowered their inhibitions were some time time the last month...

A couple of hones, about 10 straight razors, at least 4 or 5 of my pipes. Also a fair number of ItalianBarber.com and tobacco orders.

Used to drink years ago, I got that monkey off my back along with tobacco, no longer have the desire for either, so the poll does not apply to me.

Alcohol leads me to buy far more things than I'd buy when I'm clean sober - that's why I keep drinking

    Exclamation

Although I'm not now a teetotaller, I have to balance a tendency to get severe indigestion from most anything stronger than wine, against social interactivity limitations that affect non-drinkers. I never drink alone (and I didn't do so before too much bad coffee and unpleasant, high-stress employment brought on the sensitivity to alcohol). Mostly, I mix fruit juices, if available, with wine and lots of ice, and make wine coolers

On the advice of counsel I exert my rights granted under the 5th amendment of the US Constitution and refuse to answer that question.

Answer. Zero. If I drink, my thoughts turn in other directions...bet you can guess.

    I don't drink much anymore...but my thoughts still...well...you know.

I drink, but if I've imbibed too much I just try not to operate the computer at all! Treat it like a vehicle, just don't do it!!!

Never done that with something that I've just seen for the first time, but HAVE pulled the trigger while under the influence on things I've contemplated buying for some time previous.
(Possible exceptions, depending on definitions) - On occasion I have put in a bid on the 'bay for a razor that I just spotted, but in (almost) all cases it's been a razor model I've been looking at for a while.
Now, I need to get a couple under my belt this weekend and actually order that hat from Panama Bob I've been agonizing over for better than a month!

There is an option to vote "I never imbibe."
    My mileage does vary.

I do load up shopping carts, but usually leave it to the next day to edit and pay. Serious paring down goes on in the morning.
