Well Gents this is it - only 24 hours left until the BIG drawing! Here is your last chance to enter so have at it if you want a chance to win the Gift Set. The random drawing takes place tomorrow night so tune in and see who won!

I thought I’d share a memory with my father. I was about eight years old and my brother six. Dad used to take us downtown to watch the trains. This is a hobby even today I enjoy. On this summer evening a Chicago Great Western freight was idling as he awaited clearance from the tower to cross the main line of the Chicago North Western. Dad had pulled the car up in a parking lot across the street from the engine and we sat there watching this huge engine with his string of cars. We had been there a bit and he still hadn’t moved. Then Dad said, “Boys, the engineer is waving at us - he is waving for us to come over to the engine!” Well we didn’t need to be told twice. So in a flash the three of us were out of the car and on the way to the engine. We arrived next to the locomotive and Dad visited with the engineer for a time with us right there.

Then the engineer said something I’ll never forget. “Would you two boys like to come on up in the cab?” Holy SMOKES! One at a time my Dad boosted us up - really he handed us up to the engineer. I recall climbing the iron steps and felt like Jack climbing the beanstalk. We both got inside the cab and the engineer told us he was hoping we might help him move the train forward a bit to “get ready.” My brother and I looked at each other and back at the engineer. He told us to push this lever and pull back on that one, now ease this knob forward. Finally, “There! We have this sitting right where I need it. Thanks boys!”

Oh, my gosh - we had moved a freight train and if it wasn’t for us it wouldn’t have been right where he needed it. I’ll never forget it!

Nice story. I guess from my username, you would assume that I do something like that for a living. Well, it isn't that glamorous, but I work on the track itself. However, it is neat every time we put the wheels down on the truck and ride the rails. It is neat for a dad to be able to do that.

I am not a father myself, but have the most wonderful stepdaughter anyone could wish for. Some of my best moments have been chatting with my dad aboout how he did things and dealt with my teenage years. I have the good fortune to have a dad who is 20 years older than me, close by, and gets along with me. I do not take that for granted. Sharing father son moments to learn about hw to be a father myself are some incredible times, and I am so glad I get to have them.

One of the great joys is having my dad be a part f my daughter's life directly as well, so his advice is always given with a great deal of firsthand knowledge. I am a lucky guy.

I only hope that someday, I have earned enough respect and love so that my daughter's kids will call me 'grandpa', which will be as good as or better than ever having her call me 'dad' (An expectation I don't have, as he dad is close, and a good dad for her).

Thanks for letting me talk about my kid and my dad. It is worth more than any prize!
Someday, I hope I am worthy of the devotion my dog gives me today.

Well fellows the time is ‘nigh. As is my habit I use random selection which in my case means snagging a teenager walking through the room and telling them to pick a number. I did so but also told the teenager to pick three additional numbers who will (surprise, contestants!) each receive a consolation prize of a free sample vial.

Then I picked one myself to receive a free sample vial based only on content. BELIEVE me that was the hardest part - some terrific stories in there - I only wish everyone could have been a winner. And no, I’m not saying...

If you are listed you need only to PM me your address and I will get it in the mail postage paid by me.

Thank you to each who shared, as you can see over 600 people have read through this post and my guess is many enjoyed the stories. I dare say they are inspirational.

    Here are the winners:

GRAND PRIZE of a bottle of Captain’s Choice goes to...

    Big Dookie - congrats!

    Free sample vials go to:

Awesome, thanks so much Captain! I'm still pretty new to wet-shaving, but this is by far my favorite Bay Rum I've tried. Thanks for making this contest, really appreciate it!

Congrats to the winner!! As I said in my PM, I will probably be passing this sample on to another shaver I know in hopes that they enjoy it as much as I do.
I'm experiencing a sensation altogether new to me, and frankly... I LOVE IT!

Thanks for a fun contest, Cap'n, and congrats to the winners!

Being a loser is pretty much the norm with me, but the Captain wins for now, and I might winout in the end also. I ordered one of the Captain's little sample bottles to try after hearing all the good stuff about his Bay Rum here on the forum. I PIF'd my Pinaud Bay Rum quite a while ago, because it was too much spice or something, and the wife had a hard time with it. Let's hope Captain's Choice is also my wife's choice. Whatever works! She generally has no problems with any other shaving related smells, only the AS's.
Wishing I was back on the AT.

We did hear back from a satisfied customer recently. His wife told him, “I smell that Captain’s Choice on you again - you KNOW I don’t want to let you out of the house with that on - I don’t want any of the ladies at the office getting any ideas!"
