Need Help with image/logo (photoshop)

Dont know if this is the right place for this, but I figure I'll ask anyway. If I am overstepping, it is fine to delete thread. I have very little experience with photoshop and our band (My Heart Belongs to Buffalo) is trying to create a logo that interplays with the AF Stars and Bars insignia. Instead of the star in the middle, we wanted a heart with buffalo horns. I have been working on it, but I get more frustrated than anything. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Usually, when designing things like logos, you want to use a vector drawing program like Illustrator. I know Photoshop has vector capabilities, but you will find working in a program made for that work a lot easier. The plus side to working in Illustrator, is your logo will be resolution independent, meaning it can be scaled up and down with no consequences.
