    Default Wet Shaving is outstanding

    Howdy to everyone on B&B,

Im new to wet shaving and it's the best kept secret and i don't know why. Like many others, I shaved with the mach 3 or 4 or whatever it is and hated shaving. So i went to the internet and researched shaving and found a lot of good information on wet shaving and purchased a DE merkur, good shaving soap and a brush. At first, it seemed to be beyond my skill set and a bit terrifying. I continued for about two weeks and im now a believer. So much so, I'm telling all my friends and family but it dosent seem to generate much interest. Most people laugh and look at me with "are you seriously talking to me about shaving with an old school razor?". Yes, I am. I'm trying to recurit you to the team, but, if you want to spend a ton of money and hate shaving, have at it bro. Although im still new and have a lot more to develop, i'm hopefull and look forward to shaving.

If all the reasons like saving money, better shave, more relaxing ETC are not enough to switch I submit to you this.

*Wet Shaving with a DE razor makes you feel like you've discovered something lost. Having a sense of accomplishment everyday that makes you feel like a better man. Kinda crazy to get so deep in thought about shaving but it's truly how i feel. Also, being apart of a community, or fraternity of men, who care about shaving is badass. Do you shave? or do you wet shave?

Take care from the Great State of Texas.

Greetings and Salutations to B&B! I agree that DE shaving is the way to go. If the subject comes up with my friends, I'll tell them about the shaving experience. If they don't want to know, forget it. It's their loss.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.

You are correct that most people have no idea how pleasant getting a good shave is. Many many guys I've talked to just assume that a shave is an irritating and painful experience and there's nothing you can do about it. Then they think you're nuts to have made the effort to find an alternative. It is pathetic.

I agree that most people will look at us like we\re nuts.
But once in a while you find somebody that is actually interested. For example, the other day my brother suddenly told me he wanted to try it, while I was bragging about my shaving gear in a skype chat with him.

Congrats and welcome! If one of your goals is to save money though, I would recommend staying off this board. These guys are a bad influence!!

I don't know how much longer this will be a secret with the way it seems to be growing. It will be interesting to see how manufacturers of shaving products respond to this new "wave" of traditional wet shaving. If they're all like Merkur, they will just pump out more of their tried and true designs. I'm hoping that they will respond with some new, interesting and innovative products for DE shaving. We'll see. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to B&B! I absolutely agree with you, DE or str8-shaving is an incredibly masculine and confidence-boosting way to start the day. It feels so much better than pressing a button on top of a can of aerosol foam. I feel confident that everyone here at B&B loves going to work, still reminiscing about their terrific shave. If I thought I could do it I would convert all of my friends to true wet-shaving.

Mr. Navy, we're not a bad influence. We're enablers.

ADs are Acquisition Disorders. Usually they start with someone offering you a PIF, or a "Pay It Forward". Then once you've tried the PIF, or "freebase", then you usually want to buy another one, or one on a slightly higher tier than the PIF. ADs are extremely damaging to the wallet and are the number one killer of disposable income.
