Default Looking for something just as good, but cheaper

I found a great aftershave lotion that I've been using for the last couple of years: The Art of Shaving Lavender After Shave Balm. It is great for me. It doesn't sting, which is a problem for me and my very sensitive skin, my face usually doesn't hurt the next day (reevaluating that as I learn to use a DE, but at least my face doesn't hurt when using it after a straight razor shave), and my face remains moisturized for most of the rest of the day.
Only problem is each bottle costs about $36 each.

Can someone recommend an aftershave with similar results to this but less costly?

I *love* Lea Aftershave Balsam, and it is cheap enough that you should give it a try. By by estimation it meets your requirements.

I'll give these a try. Thanks. Any others? My experiences with Nivea have been it is one of the stinging types. Don't like those.

The Nivea "sensitive" after shave balm has no alcohol and is very mild. I experience no sting or burn at all from it.

OK, I shall look for the "sensitive" version. Thanks for letting me know.

Check out the St. Charles Shave Balms. They are in the $8.00 to $12.00 range and are very excellent on conditioning and scent.

Also check out the Pre de Provence after shave. It is cheaper by at least a little bit. My wife loves the smell of that one, and it is very comforting.

It's not a balm per se, but Lucky Tiger has no alcohol, is very mild, and has a light citrus smell that dissipates quicky. I've had good results with my fairly sensitive skin. I also find it mildly moisturizing.

I've never gotten any stingy out of the Nivea Sinsitive.

Caswell Massey balms are nice, smooth, and no stingy at all. The sandal wood scent is very nice (if you like their sandalwood cologne it is the same scent).

QCS will have their balm out shortly. I tested theirs and it is also a no stingy very soothing balm

Thanks guys. I just picked up a bottle of Nivea Sensitive post shave lotion (the only one on the recommendations list I could find locally). Worked pretty well. Also picked up a bottle of Neutrogena post shave balm. No one mentioned it, but I've had good luck with neutrogena products in the past. I'll see if I can find the other stuff online somewhere so I can try them out too.

Overall, my experiences with the switch to DE shaving have been astoundingly good. Thanks all, for your support.

I truly enjoy Cool Waters Aftershave Balm, but I like Cool Water Cologne.

I highly recommend Pre de Provence. It is under $15 and soothes much better than Nivea
IMO. L'Occitane Cade After Shave Balm is also excellent but cost $29, but you can pick it up locally and avoid the shipping.

I would actually recommend... Art of Shaving. At the store I was told that if you purchase the pre-shave oil and cream at the same time you can also purchase the aftershave for an additional $10.00. Also, I use their Sandalwood often. I've found it on Amazon for as little as $15.00. Keep checking their site, and when come across a deal purchase a few at once :)

Just a quick update. I've tried the Arko, Neutrogena, Pre de Provence, St. Charles, and Nivea. I've decided the Nivea Sensitive and St. Charles "Sahara" are the best for my skin.

As a side note, the St. Charles Sahara is the best scented ... almost anything ... I've ever used. The scent actually brings a smile to my face (although it seems to repulse my cats. Fortunately, they don't get a vote).

    Thanks all!
