Question Looking for a Fresh Woody scent in a Cream

Any suggestions? The scent I'm after is hard to describe..something that isn't too heavy or musky, but not floral or straight up citrusy. Something clean, but with a woody note to it. Suitable for Summer. Also, I prefer it to be not too expensive. Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like KMF Green Tea & Bamboo is for you. Certainly affordable and generally locally available to boot!

Hehehe... the main forum page preview said, "Looking for a Fresh Woody..."

    RR Third Eye?
T&H Sandalwood would be perfect, but it isn't cheap.

That's true. They're not really soap soaps, but they're not creams either. I just spaced out for a minute and forgot you were talking creams.

You were right. Italian soft soaps... like cella with more variety in the scent department.

I was PIFed a custom scent cream from Al's http://alsshaving.com/Custom-Scent-S...m-CustomSC.htm It's very woodsy. I'll have to see if there's a name for it when I get home and check.

AoS and Taylor's have sandalwood creams.

I wonder what would happen if you mixed Irisch Moos cream with a good sandalwood cream? That might be worth trying out.

    +1

I have been using KMF Green Tea/Bamboo for almost a week and I love it. I'm not a fan of the Mint, but the GT&B is a great summer scent that is very cheap and performs wonderfully

Mmmmm.... I think that the shaving cream nearer to the scent you are looking for could be Crabtree&Evelynn Sienna: I have a tube and for me has a lovely mix of AoS Sandalwood scent with citrus, very good indeed! Unfortunately, It seems discontinued....

    Cheers!

I've not tried it myself but from what I hear proraso sandalwood should be one for you to try. At the very least you know the performance will be great.

This is perfectly correct. I have a new tube of the discontinued old Proraso Red cream and woodsy describes it perfectly. I think one of our Vendor/Hobbyists still has some available or you can try the new version.

The RS Co. cream - inexpensive, lather quality in par with 3Ts. IMO the scent fits your criteria BUT it's hate it or love it. You can give it a try for $6 or so.

Fitjar Fjellheim may be what you looking for.

"The scent from Fitjar Fjellheim Shaving Cream has a clean, green, scent of juniper and pine, as fresh as a mountain breeze."

I've been using this cream in my rotation for a while. I find it to be a great performed and the scent is fantastic.

try kmf green tea and bamboo first since you can test it cheaply at whole foods etc.
if that doesn't do it for you, Proraso red is great and you might be able to find a sample online.
