    Default Back on the pipe

I've been a cigar and pipe smoker for years and have had the fortune of putting together a pretty nice collection of high grade pipes. For various reason, I always tended to gravitate more toward cigars though and that has been my primary "go to" for my tobacco fix for a long time.

After browing various forums (including this one of course) and reading around for the past months, it really hit me that I need to clean up my pipes and get back in to the hobby. Besides, it's kind of embarassing to have a rack full of Castello, Ferndown, Dunhill, etc just sitting the collecting dust

So, over the past month I've been really enjoying the briar quite a bit. I've managed to add a few pipes to the collection of my old favorites and also went an a PTAD rampage rebuilding my inventory of blends to enjoy. It's been a lot of fun starting out new, trying things I never would have bothered with in the past, and just enjoying the fun factor of it all despite feeling alomst like a total newb trying to get the feel of it all over again. I had the typical one week learning curve complete with some tongue bite that a little Biotene fixed right up for me. I also called up Cornell & Diehl and ordered a few pounds of some random bulk blends including some aromatic/english crossover stuff that has been fantastic. Last count I think I was up to something around 25 sealed tins (mostly C&D, Gawith, and McClelland) plus some various bulk stuff.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share my story of renewed interest with you gents and look forward hanging around here more.

Good deal. Looking forward to seeing back around some of the pipe threads.

I want to see pics of those pipes!

If your pipe collection is any thing like your shaving brush collection, then I'm truly impressed!

Welcome back! Also, thanks for mentioning Biotene. I normally use the regular Listerine, but it irritates the crap out of even the tiniest bit of residual tongue bite. I have been looking for something a bit more gentle & this might be just the thing.

Biotene is great. It's formulated to remedy dry mouth and does a great job of soothing any irriation. I'd never used the stuff but after my experience of using as a recommended remedy for bite, I'll probably ditch Listerine and continue to use their products as part of my regular dental health routine.
