As long as your going to be thinking anyway, think big.
PBR every time when i want something light and cheap. Hopefully i'll start making my own soon, i have a few friends doing it now and could get plenty of help. However i don't think i'll be making many light beers so i'll probably still keep some pbr's in the fridge
PBR for me.

PBR when I can get it at a restaurant. Seldom if ever take beer home as I don't drink it that often.
I do wish they still made Falstaff.
Life is too short, love your family.
Some of the Pizza joints around here have "Ray's Brew" or "Johnny's Brew" for a buck to a buck and a half a pint. I think it is actually Busch or Busch Light. Since I went to college in Missouri and Busch was one of the cheap college beers, it brings back memories. We can on certain nights get Coors Light or PBR for a buck a pint.
Speaking of college, the town the college was in (Columbia) had a nickel deposit on bottles. There was a store called 905 Liquors that had their own 905 Beer. You could go in with two cases of empties and walk out with a case of beer with no out of pocket costs. That kept many an evening playing quarters going on longer than it should have...

Lone Star or Lone Star Light. I drank it for many years and it never did me wrong, well except that one night![]()
Cheap for me is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at $13 a 12 pack. That's as cheap as I go...lol. I'm a total snob, I can't help it.
I drank a fair bit of natty light in my younger and more foolish days. Why anyone with the means to buy better stuff would voluntarily subject themselves to that is simply beyond me.
With $16 I can buy a decent bottle of bourbon that I would actually enjoy. Heck, with a bottle of cheap rum and a few 2L bottles of soda I could spend the same $ and provide a group with significantly better adult beverages than swill beer.

If we're talking real cheap it's PBR or Stag. Hamm's isn't bad either, but my preference is PBR.

I was at a family gathering a couple of weeks ago and the beer of choice was Michelob Ultra. And I keep seeing ads for Miller 64. And I wonder what's the point?
If I'm going to have a beer, I'll usually grab a Shiner Bock. It's roughly a dollar a bottle, and it actually has some flavor.
Not sure what the attraction is for the super-light stuff ...
Tetley's always good and if I buy individual bottles messrs Badger Ales Fursty Ferret a personal favourite.
Tie between PBR and Genesee cream ale. Normally I drink Yeungling which I consider a notch above the cheap beers.

If we are talking commercial beers, I think Yuengling is a solid beer regardless of price. I don't drink just to drink anymore but I sure have drank my share of Southpaw, Natty, and other cheap beers. Now if I can't afford something I actually like, I don't drink.
Oh and I will still throw back a High Life here and there (especially a Pony Bottle) in remembrance of a special summer after college spent mostly on a lake and the closest store had a $6 special on an 18 pack of pony bottles.
Simpler Times from Trader Joe's. Price in California - $2.99 a six pack.
My mileage does vary.
PBR all the way
I used to drink a lot of Coors Light cans, but can't do it anymore. So now its Miller Light believe it or not!

I actually enjoy drinking Schlitz but also have some Highlife or Keystone at times.
