Yeah, I love me some Schlitz when I can find it, Keystone and Miller Lite. Beer distribution is such a regional thing across the country. I have enjoyed PBR, Oly, Old Style depending on where I was at the time. Forgot about the old A-1 brand here in Arizona, it was great and more importantly, cheap.

Only one mention of Hamm's in this thread. I'm both disappointed and relieved.

After a long Saturday afternoon working around the house...an ice cold Michelob or an Ultra.

For a cheap beer, I'm picking up some Pabst.

India Pale Ale and Full Sail Ale are a couple reasonably priced ales.

PBR and Keystone were the go to beers in college. I don't remember the price of the two or what they even are these days, but I do remember the Keystone light having a coupon on the inside of the box for a dollar or two off the next purchase!

I rediscovered Genny cream ale "grenades" in my local beer distributor today. Not bad, but those style bottles really bring back some memories of my dad.

Just cracked a PBR as I sat down to lurk the forum. Otherwise I brew my own for pretty cheap.

I love the Coors light. Can't beat the silver bullet for a chea, cold, American Beer. And they were my sponsor when I used to rodeo.

Pabst for me. Last time at the store $7.99 for 18. I always heard this was a rock gut beer, but finally tried it and love it.

MGD, Or Michelob usually. Most domestic light beers are alright too. Usually I'm more picky though.

Yuengling, Coors Banquet Beer or Bud Light.

When I lived in NY, Genny would put out a 'Summer Brew'. $9.99 for a 30 pack and it was delicious.

Trader Joe's stuff is pretty good, but I am back to PBR as my favorite truly cheap beer, probably by a lot. The reformulated Schlitz is really good to may taste, but around here is really hard to obtain, and is not cheap. To me Yuengling is as good as anything out there in the Michelob/Bud type of range, and I seem to send up drinking it all the time when out and PBR is not available.

Have tried Carling Black Label, Shaeffer (sp?), and National Bohemian, all for very cheap. I thought each was very watery and not much of a beer, which is not what any of them where like in the last 60s when I was in high school. Uhhh, I mean college . . . after I graduated from college, because I would not have been drinking beer when I was still in high school, would I?! Actually, the reformulated Schlitz does not seem quite all the way back to what it was like in the 60s, but it is zeroing in on that and is distinctly stronger and more truly beer-flavored than the Black Label. Schaeffer, and National Boh. No matter how low the price, such a shame to have those brews reformulated into water!

Do you PBR guys prefer it in a can or bottle?

PBR isn't a terrible beer. Just about the only cheap stuff I drink, apart from homebrew.

again, I'm not a beer drinker - anyone ever tried, or even heard of, STEGMEIER (a long gone local brew from the NorthEast PA area)

and Yuengling is another favorite in this area - having been brewed only a short distance away
If you aren't grateful for what you've got, nothing that may be coming down the pike will likely do the trick for you.

Would you like to drink your PBR in the can?
Nah, I'll have it here, thanks.

If Yuengling counts, it's my favorite. Old Style has a reputation for being awful, but I found it to be a pretty good regional macro. Trader Joe's Simpler Times Lager is dirt cheap and pretty nice. As far as big, flagship macro-brewed lagers go, I happen to like Coors and Bud and I cannot stand Bud Light or Miller.

Yuengling is the only one of those that I would consider a "good beer".
