Default what would you use ?

Recently purchased a handle, and am looking for opinions on what kind of knot to finish it off with. I already have an idea as to what I want to do, but this will be fun to see what everyone else might do. So weigh in !

I accidentally voted for Silvertip. I wanted to vote for superbadger - bulb. Woops!

He ate cold beans out of a can and drank some water, and then he saw the small mirror Parker had bought with the razor and the can of lather. He looked at himself and knew he had to take a chance on staying long enough to shave. He shaved, and that made him feel better. . .

Grade A silvertip. I've used most of TGN's knots and keep coming back to this one.

another vote for 2 band finest. i have it in my restore. has hooked tips, very soft when in use.

Ok, enough farting around her Tim, show them the handle....i've seen it, but the voting members deserve a picture.

RV Butterscotch 7 handle, with 24mm and 17mm sunk.

my vote is the 2 band finest, 67mm, so would be set at 50....PERFECT

I think it depends on a couple variables. Face lather or bowl lather? Primarily creams or soaps?

That handle defiantly needs a fan, go with the super badger you won't be disappointed. What are you bragging about? Did I miss something. What is it?

Oh I didn't mean it was not a beautiful handle, I have a very big soft spot in my heart for any butterscotch, I think with the flat top on it a fan would be perfect.

I'm waiting on a Best Badger knot from TGN for a handle right now. I went with Best as it was described as having pretty good backbone for badger. I often facelather and having a beard (I just shave my throat & cheekbones currently) and having only used Boar so far I figured I'd probably prefer something with more backbone, I figured it would be a good way to test the badger waters. I've got a butterscotch coming from Ebay and I'll be happy if it looks even half as good as the one you're working up now. I hope to see how your looks soon whatever you choose.

I voted finest, my TGN finest fan knot is my favorite badger brush I own. I haven't tried super badger yet though.

I've done restores with TGN Finest in both bulb and fan. I really liked how the fan bloomed out.

Voted for silvertip, but finest would look really good in that handle. Not sure if youre going for looks or for performance, but that handle is pretty freakin sweet!!

The TGN silvertip is not as soft as the superbadger or finest. The hairs are either poorly sorted or it is clipped. There are a lot of clipped ends that are scratchy. I am using my silvertip this month to see if it gets softer. It got notably softer at about 9-10 shaves, but is still more scratchy than I like.

I have not used a TGN Grade A Silvertip, but I plan to.

The TGN Superbadger in fan is wonderful, it is wonderfully soft and has enough backbone for using soaps with no problem.

The TGN Finest XHS Fan is also wonderful. It is has very good backbone, provides wonderful exfoliation, and when used gently is very soft.

    Phil
