Default Been Using My Mergress For About A Week

I had wanted a Mergress for some time. I finally got one about 10 days ago. I must say Eric's work is impeccable. I like virtually everything about this razor and dare I say it, it might be on the way to becoming my favorite. I have several other of what most shavers would consider to be nice razors. I have a couple of Muhles (41 & 89 Grande), a couple of Merkur's (43C, 89 and Futur), an EJ 89 and several other decent pieces.

I can find little fault with this razor. I was pleasantly surprised as I had read the opposite but I've found the audible feedback to meet or exceed the Futur's. I've tried a bunch of settings but am liking this in the mid range. It's a nice razor and just works for me. I would tell anyone that is seriously considering this razor to pull the trigger. No regrets here. I've posted these pics in another thread so forgive me for the duplication. I figured some may not have stumbled on that thread.

XL Megress ROCKS... I dig mine. Fits the hand like a glove. It is the same length as the standard LONG Progress

Yes it is the XL version. I talked with Eric and explained what I was looking for. This was his recommendation. I really like long, hefty razors and this one fits the bill nicely.

    Turtle, your is a beauty.

He does exceptional work. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.......

If you don't have one GO GET ONE NOW.....

You will never regret the decision.

They are wonderful razors to begin with and the modifications takes them to an all new level as they are much better balanced with the additional weight.

I do have plans for the standard long handle progress.... It won't be a "standard" for much longer.

I have the "standard version" that Eric modified with the long knob. Really like the shaves I get, my favorite. Great heft, good balance, good head design, infinitely adjustable.

Can't decide which I like better......the standard or the XL version. Has anyone tried both? Comments?

Nice, That Razor Rocks, and i got my XL About a year ago from Lee's Razor AKA Eric?
Nice guy, Was even willing to exchange it for me because i wasn't to happy with the plating job on the Merkur Mergress XL its because i got me EJ89 a month before and we all know how EJ has that chrome plating down to a science, So i expected Every Razor to have as great plating as my EJ :o/ The only one that comes close to EJ plating is Mhule R41 2011 and my Mhule Stylo set, but none the less That Mergress XL Rocks for sure...
