After 8 months of using this soap almost exclusively, it is almost gone.
What am I replacing it with? More MWF of course! But this time I ordered the ceramic bowl... As you can see, the wooden one doesn't stay nice for very long :(

Whilst I love the MWF/ceramic bowl, the Kent version is great for travel.

I need a ceramic bowl too!
I could probably load Tabac on a Q-tip and still get a decent lather

You need to let that bowl dry out once in a while. Keeping it wet will ruin it.

I just got the ceramic bowl last week, and it is worth it! The only problem is you need to grate the puck to fit the bowl.

Actually I have seen much worse condition wooden bowls with just a couple of months of use. Eight months with the pictured bowl and it is still in reasonably good condition, it either had excellent care or was sealed well during manufacture.

As for eight months of using just one soap puck, I doubt I could do that with what I have in the bathroom and shave drawer. I like some variety in life I guess.

Ceramic bowl is larger than the wooden bowl, so there is a large gap between the soap and the edge where lather gets stuck

I fix that by grating the puck to fill in all the gaps

once the puck is used a bit and/or soft from a bit of water, it can be pressed to fit in the creases without grating.

My congratulations for such a fete!

As I use MWF as regular part of a rotation, I'm happy to see that it is possible to actually finish a complete puck of the fat.

Wha???? I am on my third puck of MWF and all three have started out much smaller than the ceramic bowl. After a several uses each puck has swelled to completely fill the void, so much I am unable to get the puck out of the bowl.

Same here. Think about it. That bowl is MADE for those pucks.

I finished a puck of MWF recently. At first, as jkh stated, the puck seemed too small for the ceramic bowl, but it swelled to fit after a few uses.

Man, I love that stuff! I need to order some more.

+1. It swells to fit every time.

That has been my experience as well with the ceramic dish that I have.

Did it take everyone just as long to finish a puck? I am having a difficult enough time not going A.D.D. on my 30 days of MdC adventure, let alone staying with one soap for eight months. I know once I'm done with this commitment, I don't know that I will stick to just one soap.

As much as I would LOOOOOOVE the ceramic bowl I am getting perfectly good service out of one of the tins that WCS sells. It fit almost perfectly, plus that little tin is surprisingly durable. It travels extremely well, plus is quite small and doesn't take up a lot of room in my dopp. I may just stick to refills and put them right into those tins and the plastic tubs!

And yes, MWF is a fantastic soap!

I've tried the MWF once, and I'm an immediate believer. Great soap. Good to know it will last!
