I got the red bowl/jar of Fume yesterday (maybe the original type?), and gave it a try. The result was mounds of wonderful lather and a fantastic save. I found the quality of lather as good as anything else i've tried, and the neutral scent much less offensive than some other soaps....

I too have taken advantage of Joe's excellent deal on Fume at shaveabuck. I purchased the lavender. My impressions so far: Everything about this soap (scent, lather, slickness, etc.) is excellent--especially for the price--but with one major personal disappointment: it's the only one of my 20 or so soaps (ranging from budget Williams, VDH, and Arko to Razorock xxx, MWF, and Tabac) to irritate my face. Consistent with 5savages' report, it causes mild stinging, which persists after the shave (despite my post-shave use of Thayer's WH and other good stuff). I'll be really disappointed if I can't continue to use it. If Fume does work for you, then it's a great budget deal.
