Default (Linux) Meet "Lisa": she's Mint-y fresh

I've ignored Linux Mint for the past couple of years but I decided to try Mint 12 "Lisa" and I'm glad I did. The new look is clean and POLISHED. It looks great and runs great!

Does that look nice or what? (and yes, they're finally starting to get away from all that oogly green-only wallpapers!)

+1! I have been dabbling with various iterations of Ubuntu, and happily stumbled across Mint a few weeks back. I find myself growing more fond of the KDE version of Lisa every day!

I'm a big Mint fan. I use the Debian Edition, which is a rolling release. Smooth, stable, fast, I love it! On the odd occasion when I have to use another OS at home or work i'm reminded ever more why I love Mint and Linux!

Is that Gnome or KDE? I am thinking I need to check this out, especially if it's not all green now (a turnoff for some reason).

I am pretty sure it's Gnome.

Linux Mint 13 is supposedly due out at the end of May.

I read that it will be a "long term service" release and that some issues with Gnome 3 will be worked out.

I ain't letting no Gnomes in my system! I have enough problems with worms and viruses getting in through my Windows. You let one Gnome in... then he opens the door for one of those cute little penguins in... next thing you know it's a flippin' Safari.

It's a wonderful distro! Desktop sanity with a future!

!f you like the Unity/Gnome Shell 'button-pane' interface, great. If not, this is the desktop to have.

Fedora 17 "Beefy Miracle" was released yesterday. Like Fedoras before it when I run it live the desktop loads then freezes and I can't do anything else with it. It's a driver issue with either the touchpad or the video card on my netbook. Bummer, because the new Fedora is pretty cool, too.
