Fixing a Wearever Pennant

I was in an antique store the other day. When I was checking out, I noticed a Wearever Pennant on the counter. I asked the owner if I could see it and he just gave it to me. Said nobody ever buys used pens. I took it home and put it to the test with a glass of water. It will draw up the water, but it leaks through a couple of fine cracks in the section.

I know that this is not a valuable pen, and I could either toss it or put it in my cigar box full of things that I hope that I'll find a use for someday. However, I thought that this might be a good way to get some practice working on a pen. Would it be possible to patch up the cracks in the section of a pen like this?

If the pen leaks through a cracked section it's probably not going to be easy to fix, and it sure won't look good. Tyler Dahl fixes pens and he fixed a cracked section on my Phileas, and he sold me a Pennant just recently. No affiliation, just a customer from the past. He used to be known as 777, but revamped his site. Try Goggling him. I'd drop an email and either ask for suggestions on how it can be fixed, or just send it off for a fix. The Pennant writes well, has an odd nib that I never saw before, and it works just fine. Mine was ground to a stub nib. Very nice and smooth with some line variation.
