Shave #9
OK well tonight only did 2 passes WTG. First pass was really smooth I think I'm starting to get a little to comfortable with this and wanted to stop before I developed some bad habits.
Second pass was going through my normal routine, used MWF tonight. Cheeks are fine, medium length strokes very nice same with under the chin and neck area. Smooth could be smoother with experience but good enough for me. The reason I stopped on this pass was around the chin area under the lips. I don't know if maybe my razor was a little off from a "not so great" strop or if its really just me. Old saying 99% of the time its the user. So I'm going to take that approach, reason being is I have picked up a little more speed on the shave and find myself in that area doing short repeating strokes along that area. Sort of like blade buffing with a DE, and basically I'm just hacking in to my chin on the curves. Tonight I received 4-5 small nics with one that wouldn't stop bleeding for a good while even with styptic.
Anyways, decided just to put it down before it works itself into a habit, hopefully it won't (don't think it will) unless I want to rock the bloody chin look. This problem has just started, it is a new problem, really think its that fact that I am gathering speed everywhere else and trying to carry it over to the chin which has greater curvature.
Edit: Funny I mention about the blade buffing since my title at the moment is blade buffing berzerker.

I have found that everytime (or almost everytime) that I try something different to get better/closer I usually get a nick or two. If you never try different things you won't get better. however there is sometimes a price to pay. I think it's worth it.
Once you find something that is an improvement you can then practice it and get it "dialed-in".
ok ok ok ... i know it HAS been a while, but June for is soo busy with travel attending meetings and conferences every year. So back to my saga...
Shave 10
Normal shower prep
RR Don Marco (for some reason I love the smell of this soap, different I guess)
Only did 2 passes today because of the time....
2 WTG passes nothing was tricky, I did have longer facial hair than usual... wasn't really trying to get a great shave, just clean my face up a little so I can get back to somewhat of a normal schedule. The shaves were fine, one small nick but that was about it. Shave was smooth as long as I don't rub my face against the grain as expected.
Looking to get back going with this now that thing will settle down.

Shave 11
Normal prep
Tried something a little different tonight. A puck of Tabac has been sitting there teasing me for the past 2 months. So, of course, I had to give it a shot. I love it might be the best soap I've used to date. Anyways, back to the save.
Recently started, even with DE's, doing a 2 pass shave. It gives me a BBS shave everytime, my passes are WTG and ATG. Thats all it takes to give me better results than I could ever imagined. Even messing with soaps, water amounts, thin lather, thick lather, and all in between I just really don't think my face can take 3 passes. The only stubble I have are spots that I miss, and I can just touch those up when I realize.
Pass 1: WTG great pass, Tabac is a champ and I will probably keep it until it is finished, using others in between of course.
Pass 2: ATG a little rusty, shave went great, but kept tripping over my hand position. It will come back, I hope.
Thoughts:
Not going to put a whole lot in to this shave, except I am a big fan of Tabac, because it has been a long time since I've really picked up the straight due to a busy busy month, mostly out of town.
