    Default Alum Block and moisturizer

I got sensitive skin, so use a moisturizer post-shaving instead of aftershave, etc. I'm also prone to razor burn, so I just bought an Alum Block.

My questions are: After shaving and splashing cold water on my face to close the pores, do I rub the Allum Block on and then immediately apply the moisturizer? Do I rinse my face after applying the Alum Block?

It's your choice, but with sensitive skin you will likely find rinsing the alum after 1 or 2 minutes will give you the best results. If you leave it on, it may cause your face to be a bit on the "tight" side. I leave it on sometimes if I'm applying a moisturizer, but always rinse if I'm going with an aftershave.

There is no harm to the skin either way.

(as a side note, pores don't open or close)
Brian - I think it would be totally inappropriate for me to even contemplate what I am thinking about.

Check the responses against my current post on the Alum block feeling darn strange. People seem to be doing both, just putting the alum on and either not rinsing, or rinsing after two minutes.
My suggestion is to try both ways on different days. If you put a lot of moisturiser on, I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference. But if you aren't using much, you may well wind up wanting to rinse it off before applying the moisturiser.
    Regards,

Rinse thoroughly after the shave, apply alum, wait a couple minutes, rinse thoroughly again, apply your usual balm.
