    Default Latest Batch Of Restores

I just wanted to share some pics of my latest restores. From left to right, Klenzo butterscotch with a 20mm TGN Grade A Silvertip (this is actually a restore of a restore because I was unhappy with the way it originally came out), black & butterscotch Rubberset with a 20mm fan shape TGN Super Badger, red & black Certifyd #2 with a 22mm TGN Silvertip, cream Certifyd #3 with a 22mm TGN Finest, black & butterscotch Fuller with a 20mm bulb shape TGN Super Badger, and a black Rubberset with a 20mm TGN Best badger.

No before pics, but the two black & butterscotch brushes had really ugly seams on the upper black sections that I sanded down and polished away. The red & black Certifyd was my first wooden handle that originally had lacquer over the unstained wood, and I thought the new color scheme would be nicer looking (the before pic of this brush is below).

I tell ya, brush restoring is getting to be one addictive hobby!

That 3rd pic is beautiful, as are the restores themselves.

    Very nice!

How did you restore the colour on the upper (red) part of the Certifyd #2?
Razors don't shave people. People shave people!

There are three critical types of moments in life: Times when we should use opportunity to be enamoured with finer details, and times we should ignore the minutia.

The before pic is from the seller (with poor lighting), and it was (and is) the darker red you see in my pics. I put the black in the lettering by brushing on nail polish, letting it dry completely, and then buffing away the excess with #0000 steel wool. After that, I hit it with some plastic polish and then gave it a spray of clear coat to seal it in.

Nice work. I have done 2 so far. I want to do more but I can't justify having more than 3 brushes. But it really is fun to restore. I may just do a few for some friends that DE shave just for fun and practice.

Thank you. And it's a family that will probably continue to grow.
