Bitter sweet memories. I have been looking at this thread for several days, and it brought back so many memories, and I will share with you. Richie P. lived two doors dowm from me. Ronnie M. lived directly across the street from Richie, we grew up together, went to grammer school together, fished together hunted small game together. Richie went to a catholic high school, but we still hung together. We all got drafted in the same year 1968. Richie upon getting his draft notice joined the Marine Corp, as was a family tradition.
So after our service Ronnie, and myself had to sit around, and pray for Richie's return. He did, and once again we started hunting, and fishing together. In 1981 Richie was killed by a drunk driver, and this is the first time this old bow has been out of it's case since 1981. Ronnie, and I both lost the desire to bow hunt. Ironic Richie was awarded two purple hearts, and a silver star, only to be killed by a drunk driver. I guess life takes some funny twists, and turns. It's going back into It's case, and back into the garage. Ronnie, and I hunted for many more years together, just never bow hunted.
I didn't mean to bore you with this story, but rather I just wanted to share some memories with you . Thanks for listening.
Best Regards Ron
