Default Gillette 7 O'Clock Black -India or Russia?

I am looking at purchasing some of the Gillette 7 O'Clock black. I have noticed that some are produced in India and some in Russia.
    Is there any difference?

Hmmm.... I've never seen a Russian black....I always get the India made ones.....one of the best blades ever! all of our vendors sell the Blacks from India...I normally get mine from razor blades and more...great balance of smooth and sharp...reminds me alot of the Suoer iridium's.....I prefer them over the Russian PPI Yellows

The blacks are made in India. Sharp and smooth. The greens are Russian. Also a nice blade, but not as good as the Indian blacks.

The blacks are made in India.
The dark blues and yellows are made in Russia.

The greens are made both in Russia and India. The Indian greens are labelled Permasharp (and so are the Russian Yellows), the Russian green is labelled Super Stainless.

JCinPA sent me a few Blacks (India) and I've got to say they are very good blades, close to Feather's for me in performance both smoothness and sharpness. I'd say the blacks are barely smoother, and the Feather's are barely sharper.

The main issue I have, though, is that the Blacks generally run about the same price as I can get Feather's from dridiot in the vendor section, so I don't see myself buying any bulk quantities of them in the future. (I think dridiot can get blacks too, but I haven't checked his prices for the blacks.)

There are six different 7 O'clock blades that I know of, five of which are pictured below.

The sixth are the Czech made Blue Super Platinum blades.

The Black India made Super Platinum and Blue Russian made Super Platinum are both very nice blades.

Below are couple Blue vs Black threads:

    Thanks for the clarification gentlemen.
The pics I looked at were showing the "dark blue" and even some of the sellers on the bay said in the description that the blades were "Black", but made in Russia, and actually show the package in xillion's photo on the bottom left.

I sent Jason (dridiot) a PM and he stated that he is out of stock.

Thanks again everyone for the input and protecting a fellow B&B'er.

    Brad,

I've still got a Black and a Yellow left from the samples that JCinPA sent me. If you want, drop me your address in a PM and I'll ship you one of each so you can at least give them a try.

That's very generous of all of you. I would love to try the blades out before making a bulk buy.

Blacks are great blades, just too much $$ for me.
