Cool Hello all, here also an newbie to DE shaving (from the Netherlands)

Hi all, Just started a couple of weeks ago with DE shaving. Picked up a low budget Wilkinson Classic Razor blister package for start. Just a plastic DE razor.
Before DE shaving I used to shave with 4 or 5 blade-razors with shavingcream out-of-the-can. Then after a while I tried to do wet shaving with proper shaving cream and brush, but noticed the cream is jamming the razor blades of the Wilkinson Titanium / Gillette Fusion razors.
Did some digging and after a practice shave with a straight razor at my local barber (he's just starting with the straight razor shaving), decided to go for the DE shaving experience.
So I got the Wilkinson Classic Razor and some Tabac shaving cream and started. The first shave wasn't so bad, but the 2nd I got too confident and nicked myself.
Now a couple of weeks down the line, I can say I should have done this much earlier, just love shaving right now. Less irritation and a clean shave.

Now addicted to the DE shaving, I browsed the internet last weeks for a proper razor. Checked out new Parkers, Merkur, Muhle, EJ ..... so much to choose from.... Finally found this forum and read articles about the different razors, and now i can tell you I made up my mind (for now) and got myself....... a Gillette Rocket, so more of a vintage one i.s.o. a new one. Really don't know the specs, but according to the seller it should be a Rocket. I looks like the TTO knob is slighter bigger than the stem. And there is a ring on the stem, just under the baseplate. Also the baseplate is diamond shaped. Unfortunately there is no case or box with the razor, but maybe I can find one later on.
If everything goes right, the razor will be delivered next week, and then I will have to clean it and get some Barbicide or something else to desinfect it.
And then finally do a shave with the Rocket.....

    Greetings from Holland

Welkom bij B&B. Where in Holland are you? Barbiere de Figaro (Eric), is in Zwolle and sells some great italian soaps and other shaving items.

Hi, I'm from the south of holland. Eindhoven to be exact. So Zwolle is a little bit too far, maybe during the holidays.

    Tot ziens ;-)

Welkom mede-brabander! I was born in Eindhoven btw.

When you have some time you should visit Paul Kox in Breukelen; you won't get closer to a shaving-Mekka in the Netherlands!
I must to the barber's, monsieur, for methinks I am marvellous hairy about the face

Ah fair enough, you can still order via the web so you don't have to travel there.

Welkom aan boord vanuit het nog verdere Zuiden. Talibeard just beat me at pointing out Paul Kox. Your time there will be well spent!
