    Default new Proraso green cream

I used it for the first time today. My impressions (based on only one use and bearing in mind that it's been quite a while since I've used Proraso) are that the original smells a little better and is more mentholated, but that the new stuff gives me a better shave and is a little bit kinder to the skin.

Great to know. I'm happy to trade a little scent for a little more performance. Once my current tube is finished, I won't have any hesitations purchasing a newer tube.

Agree that the smell of the new is not as potent when you sniff the tubes. Yesterday i shaved one side of my face with the old and the other with the new to compare and didn't notice any significant difference in shave quality. still an awesome product.

+1 I don't notice a difference in scent or efficacy. They did a great job with the reformulation of the SC, the pre-shave cream, and the green AS splash.

And the new Red is even better, IMHO.

I agree that it is softer on the skin. The scent smells the same to me as the old stuff.

I've got two tubes of the Green. I'm really enjoying it. I may try the Red sometime.

+1 - I have the EXACT same observations.
The new Prorqaso, red as well as green, simply outperforms the old product, but the old green smelled stronger and better.

Agreed - the red Proraso is almost in my over all Top 5 of the best shaving creams I own - in company with SMN, ADP, Xpec, I Coloniali and CF Lavender.

The scent is close but not quite the same as the old formula. The new scent to me has a slightly woody note to it. The old scent was also a bit stronger.
I've used the new stuff 3 or 4 times so far. I can't tell any difference in performance so far, but I want to try it a few more times before I make any final conclusions about the performance of the old vs. the new. Both are great products that I will continue to use probably forever.

    Rob --

The CO Bigelow is not a 'knock-off'; it actually is the Proraso. It is produced by Proraso and packaged as Bigelow for CO Bigelow and has been available for a few years.

Nobody knows if this will continue with the new reformulation or if the packaging of Bigelow will be changed/updated. Time will tell. As far as local sources for Bigelow in the DC/NOVA/MD area, check the 'Bath and Body Works' stores in the shopping malls. They carry it.

$8.99 is indeed a great price. I also ordered one of each, the Green and the Red, a few days ago.

I know poraso is cheap money wise, but it seems as though a lot of people on here list it at one of there top 3-5 shave creams. Is it really that good as far as a good lather and keeping the skin hydrated while you shave?
