I'm sure the game of Polo has it's merits, but that's not what I'm playing at...

I want to share with you a few of my Polos...

    And I don't mean these...

Although, my Polos also come in sizes (8, 10, 12 and 14)...

These Polos are described by their maker as "outrageous" and directed as only for "macho men."

But, I'm sure Polo wearing Polo players might also consider themselves macho...

And I do consider this Polo to be outrageous...

But I digress, so without further ado, I give you THE...

    The Simpsons Polo

But I'm sure you guessed that already and please excuse my lame attempt at being entertaining.

Pictured above is my Pre-Vulfix, Size 12, Super, 2 band, bulb.
I used this brush this morning and it's the inspiration behind this thread.

Need I say? ..."there's more to come!"

I thought it was Ralph Lauren's attempt to cash in on the wet shaving trend by putting his name on a horse hair brush and calling it Polo.

Peter you clearly have a problem, you need more brushes. WOW that is just amazing.

    This morning's shave:

    Shower shave and face lather
    Polo 12
    Vulfix Persian Musk
3 Passes with Muhle R101 (2010) WTG, XTG and ATG
    and Super Iridium blade.

After the 3 passes, jumped out of the shower with the still loaded PL12.
Splashed on some DR Harris Pink A/S immediately followed by some GFT Coral Skin Food.
And took a couple of pics...

The handle is solid and felt great in the hand.
I felt like I was wielding a serious tool or medieval weapon.
In fact I felt more masculine, even "macho" just for having picked it up!

I found the 2 band super knot greedily sucked up water.
Adding to the weight, I even considered a few bicep curls...
The knot remained compact and I dunked it in the shaving cream pot.
And then commenced to lather directly on the face.
The tips were soft not at all scratchy, but there was a reassuring sensation from the tips.
Enough scritch to remind me I was a man using a manly brush.

The size of the knot was not at all overwhelming.
Whipping up lather was a breeze and keeping to where I intended to shave was surprisingly easy.
It splayed a little, but the 2 band provided plenty of strength and backbone.
The compact bulb shape was pretty much retained throughout the lathering process.
    Flow through was fine.
There was plenty of lather, but I had expected more.

I enjoyed this brush and am not at all concerned about trying his bigger brother the PL14.
That said, I'm very keen to try the PL10.
I have the current 2 band version, but it's the Pre-Vulfix PL10 that I intend to use next.
It's 3 band Best and the knot is more Fan than bulb, perhaps best described as hybrid.
I think this will feel as big on the face as the PL12, maybe even bigger...

Ben, how would you compare the Polo 8 or 10 knot to the Chubby 2 knot?

Peter, I doubt you'd be able to fit them all in the frame (even with your widest angle lens!)
