Default Acqua di Parma arrived yesterday.

Ordered from online site eglobal beauty (no affiliation).

Also arrived earlier this week my Savile Row 3824.

Any recommendations on tips to lathering the Acqua?

    BTW: it smells DIVINE!

Soak your brush for a minute shake some of the excess water off and begin to swirl, some recommend using a boars hair brush for soft soaps and creams, but this should not be a problem with the Parma. Let us know how it goes.

soak brush, shake dry, swirl for 30 seconds, paint thin dry layer on face, dip brush in water, scrub wet brush in circular motion..

brace yourself for the lather explosion.

    thanks for the advice lads,

"drove it" this morning for the first time with my new Saville Row brush (24mm knot).

very light swirls for about 20 seconds and then face lathered with a couple of very light tip-dips to add water.

very, very slick and smooth shave (3 days growth), a little tingling from the lather (but no reaction) and the whole den just had the gorgeous citrus aroma (very authentic to the colonia EDt which i followed up with)

I used it myself this am... coupled with a Semogue 1438 and for a typical face lathering brush I eschewed that and bowl lathered it to grand success. I really love this cream but it will have to take a #1"C" behind both Santa Maria Novella and Blenheim Bouquet which battle for #1"A" and #1"B" status.... It is VERY close among the 3 however. Glad you enjoyed it!

You lucky man - you've just experienced a tub of one of the very best shaving creams, vegetable or tallow, available today.

I'm going to use mine tomorrow now. Thanks for reminding me of just how good it smells.

i had issues with a slight tingle / burn few shaves into it, which lasted 2-3 shaves which seems to have gone now..

odd.. however, yes this cream is great.

Off topic: What are you thoughts on the SR 3824? I have one queued in the cart at QED....but I have the 3722 in the cart as well. One must go before I pull the trigger and I havent signed into the site for over a week in case I go mad and buy both.

The Savile Row? Already reviewed it in the Review forum and can only be objective in terms of it being my first silver tip (my other brushes are EJ BBB, 2 boars, 1 synthetic).

The SR is gorgeous. Soft tips but enough backbone to face lather and it whips the Proraso (today's soap, not the AdP) into a very different lather. Feels like a soft chamois on the face, no scritchyness. I was tossin up between it and a shavemac and the reviews and summary from the B&B Brush Wars decided it for me. SR won hand down.

And Charles from QED was very easy to deal with.

Oh, get the 24mm knot. Ive got medium size hands and it fits perfect and the bulb shape keeps the lather on the face not all over the place. My Omega boar tends to flick cream over all and sundry.
