FS: Modified Mergress

SOLD. Thanks Badger and Blade, as usual I am extremely grateful to this forum!

For sale, one twice used Mergress. Originally the Progress was shipped directly from the vendor to Eric Maier to be turned into a Mergress, then to me. I took a look at it and realized (suspected) that the Mergress was more aggressive than I like. A shave confirmed that and so I sent it back to Eric and he happily "tweaked" it to make it milder. One side-effect of this is that the dial reads 3 instead of 1 when it's at its least aggressive setting. In other words, it's about 2 steps milder than the standard Progress/Mergess. But I'd say that aberration is worth the change. When it got back to me I shaved with it once and decided it isn't for me. I guess I prefer vintage razors!

So, for sale, one unique and limited edition Mergress, used twice, as new in box. Price reduced from $92 to $85 shipping included. Selling in CONUS only.

Do I have to take it out of the box and set up for a photo? It looks just like a new Mergress but the box is a little mussed up.

Since I'm a newbie to all of this, how can you take a look at the razor and know if it is too aggressive?

Well, slyaggie, by looking at the blade gap and the blade angle. By looking at those you can get an idea. Then you try it.

Ok, so if they gap is greater it is more aggressive (or is it the other way?

in general, the greater the gap the more aggressive. for example, take an adjustable razor, set it to 1 and look at the blade gap. then set it to 9.

maybe you should start a thread in the safety razor or the shaving newbie forum on the differences between mild and aggressive razors.

@Ed - so this is a standard Mergress? Not a Long-handled or XL?

I have the XL , would of considered purchasing it if it was left normal setting Not Starting at setting No.3 :o/ is there a way to fix it back easily ?
