It is one of my favorites. The performance rivals many other soaps at a higher price point. Well worth the price.

Finally got around to trying the European version. Fantastic, and quite a good deal at around $3.00. I even used an extra floppy, high loft, low density brush to see if I could wring out lather with such a challenging brush. No problems. I love the old-fashioned smell, which smells like original Palmolive soap with a little more pungency. And best of all, it fits like a hand in glove in my ~70 year old shaving stick canister.

    I'm sold.

I think he meant in a US brick and mortar store. Even today there are still some people that don't use a credit or debit card in the US (credit/debit cards aren't pushed on people as hard here as in the EU or especially in Singapore -- where you have to open a bank account when you sign up for National Service at age 18 in order to be paid for your service).

Palmolive is alright, I went 3 months on one stick, still have about 1 inch left. I get similar performance from Palmolive and Arko...Excellent performance.

I like the smell of aired out Arko slightly better (but fresh Arko stinks). I have a hard time with feeling like I am lathering with dish soap with Palmolive's scent.

Hands down better than Arko. Palmolive is an excellent performer and smells clean.

Maybe someone would like to trade it for a stick for Russian shaving cream or Sputnik/Gillette Rubie blades?
Sure, I'd be happy to send you a Palmolive stick - and happy to accept anything you suggest in return. Send me a PM with your address, and the Palmolive will be on its way to you.

I picked up a few sticks a couple of months back, took a sniff and gave it a try, then put them in the cabinet. About a month ago I took one out again and gave it another go. I find I'm reaching for it more than anything else now, and probably use it about 4-5 days a week, the other 2-3 being either Tabac, Cella, Vitos, or Speick.

The more I use it, the more I like the smell, and it lathers very very well for me. This is the Euro version made in Germany that I'm talking about. I haven't tried the Australian version yet.

I just used a stick today! It is works awesome, and the smell is very non threatening. Plus, the tallow in it rules. I will buy more. I need to try some Arko too so I can compare.

I've picked up a couple Palmolive sticks and they do get use. I have not found anything that tops Arko ...BUT... I keep looking..

I got them both at the same time. I prefer the ARKO scent, but both work quite well. The Arko was cheaper, so I'd have to say that overall, I think it's a better deal. I'll use them both, and keep them both on hand as much as possible.

FYI... Sorry to "zombie" your post but I found that Italian Barber has a sale on Palmolive Shave Sticks for $2.99 and La Toja for $4.99.

I have the Palmolive (green) and it is pretty good. I find myself using the Arko more though. They both offer great value/performance, but it was the Arko that turned me onto shave sticks, and face lathering. Maybe I am slightly biased since my brother lives in Turkey now
