That's funny. I love vetivers and she dislikes those also.

I guess I'm lucky. She likes all dozen or so of the scents I use.

Ditto that, Garry. Endymion, Mugler Cologne and Cuir d'Arabie get the big thumbs-up from the gf, but if I'm wearing Egoiste (my favourite) she doesn't want to be anywhere near me.
It's therefore kept strictly for days where there's no chance I'll see her.

Seriously. If I heeded my wife's comments, I wouldn't be wearing anything at all. Well, that's not exactly true. She seems to tolerate -- and that's the correct word: tolerate -- bay rum. And rose, to a certain minimal extent. But other than that? She hates everything.

I deal with it by wearing what I like. I figure she can deal with whatever scent I'm wearing for the 15-20 mins. that I'm around in the mornings before I leave for work. If I wear anything on the weekends, I try to make it something very light. I usually won't wear an oud on the weekend (but sometimes I can't resist ).
Oh my goodness! Not to change subject, but I clicked on your shave cave link! Is that list current? Wow, I better get crackin'

The only thing SWMBO likes is the DR Harris Sandalwood.
I'll wear that for her no problem, but I still wear the ones she's indifferent to, and the ones she absolutely hates (like the Veg).
I just wear what strikes me at the moment. No real prethought goes into it.

I had 3 new decants recently. My wife's reactions: 1. Aventus: "What the hell is that smell?" 2. Tom Ford Tuscan Leather: "You smell like an old cigar." 3. Silver Mountain Water...for the sake of keeping this "family-friendly", let's just say it was positive. Needless to say, I'm saving up for a few gallons of SMW!

Trumpers Spanish Leather. I love it. She tells me it's "a turnoff". I don't wear it anymore.....

Yep. Bought a bottle a few weeks ago. Gets a similar reaction from the wife, but doesn't seem to last as long as the SMW. Excellent for the price, though.

My wife dislikes probably upwards of 80% + of the frags I buy/like. At first I refrained from wearing them around her, but eventually I started applying what I know to be the case with myself to the mix, IE I tend to need to let most scents grown on me before I like them, some of my favorites started off as something I wasn't too happy with in the beginning.

Seems to work, for the most part. I've had compliments from her for frags she told me she didn't like when I first tried them ;]

So far she's liked everything I use. Her favorite is Knize 10. When wearing Lilac Vegatal I was told "it was intoxicating and I needed to use more".

    Question

What about the other way around - frags that she likes on you but you guys don't care about?
In my case - Brut. She thinks it's the only cologne I need, and to me Brut is ... meh.

My wife HATES Brut - Which I love, she say's it smells like her Grandpa. On the other hand she loves Nautica ~ which I cannot stand!

My wife get's migraines pretty frequently and one of her "triggers" is scent. She does however tolerate most of my frag choices pretty well, and likes many of them, but only loves a couple. That said, she has used the "veto" on EVERY single Montale fragrance I've brought into this house, lol. I'm thinking it's something unique to Montale...not sure. I'm good with it as long as she doesn't start shooting down my Tom Ford's, ahaha

Wow, you have great smelling bug sprays over there

I guess I have it easy. I don't have to worry about what I wear, it's all tolerated - some frags are received better than others, but I am wearing what ever I want. That of course goes other way around too, so we have it all figured out.

Aventus is one of the favorites, she really digs that. First time I put on MdM, with it's initial civet blast, it was a bit too much though. After it evolved for a while, she did say that it doesn't stink that bad (notice the choice of words "stink"), so I'd say MdM is at the bottom of the Like List

My girlfriend hates Green Irish Tweed. She wrinkles her nose and comments on how strong it is every time I wear it. She hasn't outright said "I hate that stuff," but I can tell.

Did I mention we broke up?

I though for sure she would not like THE VEG but it surprised me as THE VEG only got a "what's that old lady smell?" from her. It was a winner since it was classified as a "smell" not a "stink"
I'll agree with this one. My partner deplores DEPLORES Tabac EDC. I still wear it anyway and will get compliments on it but she can't stand it.

For some reason my wife doesn't pick up on 90% of the tabac smell, she says it just smells like soap to her I don't complain, means I can use it as often as I want
