Can't you get it easy enough in the UK? Thought it would harder to find in America.

Illegal to sell in all of Europe (except countries like Norway, Sweden etc...). Stupid law made several years back.
I know somewhere to buy it but they charge double the price that it is in Sweden. Will just wait a bit for my friends to bring some back.

Dang that's a pain. wonder why they are so strict about it. Whole lot worse things you could put in your body that they sell over the counter with no issues. I'm gonna count myself lucky then that my dad lives in Norway, I'll have some connection up there when it gets made illegal out here. Or at least someone that doesn't care about it being illegal to mail and whatnot.

Tried Jakobsson's Melon yesterday. Was my day off so I'm not sure if I got the nicotine I would have wanted at work, but it was enough for a stress free day around the house. Really liked the melon flavor I got from it.

At work trying General Original now.

Can't tell the difference between General Original and General White. Given my druthers I'd pick White though. looks better in the can.

Wait a while and you will be able to. The General Black has a much stronger taste, and trust me nicotine wise there is a difference.

I kinda guessed that I was too new to notice the difference.

Hey Prof...when you say "General Black" what are you referring to? General Ekstra Sterk, General Onyx or General Original portion? Are you talking about the color of the can or the color of the portion? The reason I ask is because each of these snus flavors are and nicotine strengths are different.

They are exactly the same in nicotine strength, the only difference is that the Original portion undergoes one additional "wetting" process, whereas the white doesn't, which is why it's dry ;-)

The original wetted portion has a quicker absorption rate because of the last process right? Not sure if I phrased that right, but the White portion has no coating on the outside with flavor and whatnot to be absorbed. So it takes a little longer to get the first little bit of nicotine. Not sure if I understand it all exactly yet.

Nope...sounds like you understand it pretty well. Wet (original) portions have a quicker nicotine hit and more "drip" or running, where white portions take a bit longer. That said, I find a white portion's flavor to last a bit longer...but YMMV

The Original only last about an hour today before I broke down and had to smoke. But today was a much more hectic day than when I tired white so that's all anecdotal observations. Maybe I'll go back and forth from original to white for a couple days and see if I can find a difference. Probably a better idea that opening the other ones right now. I at least should know how to sense the subtle differences before I try different style you think?

My friend/co-worker got some of these to help him quit smoking and it worked. He gave me a variety to try, but they didn't really work well for me. I couldn't get over the feeling that I jammed a teabag in my mouth, and it made it awkward to work, as I do a lot of work on the phones. It did seem to help curb some nicotine cravings though, but not as well as just stepping out for a smoke. I never would have thought to bust them open into pipes... that's a great idea. Is that safe though? Are they just flavored tobacco inside or are they treated with weird chemicals? I guess I trust Swedish chemists. (Fun fact, did you know Dolph Lundgren has a degree in chemical engineering?)

From what I've read they aren't treated with anything horrible. Jury is still out on propylene glycol, but worse things are found in cigs and even soda for that matter. It does take some getting used to when I'm talking on the phones at the hotel, but it forces me to enunciate more than normal so I mumble less as a result. Snus has to put all the ingredients on the package because it is considered a foodstuff. Pipes, cigs, and cigars don't have to do that so I'm sure they are putting some gross things in the lower quality brands. *last sentence is complete speculation and I have no proof of such things... But I'm pretty sure I'm right...*

It's like I said in an earlier post, I always used the extra strong (extra sterk) snus first thing in the morning to jumpstart the nicotine system, and then any time during the day that I "had" to have some nicotine. I'd use an extra strong after meals or high stress situations...much like when you'd want to smoke. Then the rest of the day I'd use a regular 8mg portion as a maintenance dose.

The thing you need to realize is that cigarettes are just a nicotine delivery device, and probably the best delivery device on the planet...by design. Once you realize this and know that you're getting more than enough nicotine with snus, you only have to deal with the psychological addiction...the habit of smoking cigarettes to get your nicotine.

I just replaced cigarettes with snus...and used it exactly the same way and within a few weeks....didn't even want the cigs anymore. It takes time, but hang in there. Some even say, smoke when you want to but keep using the snus and eventually the snus just takes over, lol. I found it easier to just use the snus and stay away from the smokes, but as in everything...YMMV

I'm gonna bring one of the strong portions into work today and see if I can notice a difference in nicotine. How gross would the melon be while drinking coffee you think? Might bring in both strong portions I got and use melon when I quit drinking for the night.

General Original, just the Swedes that I hang out with call it General Black (and they introduced me to snus, so I refer to it as General Black).

Just a short disclaimer, when I say there is a difference in nicotine, I mean there is a difference in nicotine intake. I realize it is the same amount, but General Black absorbs faster.
